Hi there. I'm pretty much new to the world of Coach, and can mostly be found hanging out on the LV forum. I wondered if you would mind taking a look at this, my first Coach bag. I've ready bought and received it. I think it's authentic but I want to be sure! Thanks so much. :smile1:

It's fine.

Looks good.

The bag is authentic.

I just want to add that with regard to the "rule" you stated, to date, it's only a full signature exterior bag that shouldn't have signature lining. There are several styles of patchwork bags with a variety of exterior patterns including siggy that DO have signature lining. (That Coach rule might change at some point, thus my "to date" reference.)

These are two legitimate examples:

It seems like bags that are "mostly" Signature Cs fit the rule, from what I've seen. Meaning that if the outside pattern is more than 50 percent Cs then the inside shouldn't be. But there are always going to be a few exceptions. The Salearea Guide on Authenticity Guides says

"THE C'S OUTSIDE - NO C'S INSIDE RULE
MOSTLY TRUE, with exceptions. When the outside fabric is predominantly Signature Cs of any kind or the Coach name or logo, the inside of the bag should NEVER have Signature C, Op Art or any other name or logo lining."

I hope that "predominantly" covers all the possibilities, unless someone starts getting crazy measuring the square inches on all the Patchworks and finds a rule-breaker. :D

It's not necessarily a red flag that the bag was previously sold. It's very possible that it was a non-paying buyer so the seller relisted.

ETA: As for the bag you purchased in January, you lost the opportunity to file a dispute on ebay but since November, paypal has a 180-day dispute policy and in this case, it's a legitimate reason to take advantage of the long timeframe. (The fact that you defaced the bag may not help in the event of the seller requesting return of the bag but you have nothing to lose by trying to dispute the purchase.)

You might need to obtain a professional authenticity statement if PP requests or requires it but wait until you see how the seller and PP respond to the dispute.

The seller did have a 14-day return policy so had you verified authenticity sooner, you could have returned it without even having a reason.

I know, I wish I'd known about tPF in time so that I could've addressed this problem in a timely fashion, but I have certainly learned a lot through the Forum because of this experience.

May I mention in my PayPal dispute that the Purse Forum determined the bag to be a fake, or is that not OK?

Thanks for everything.

I don't think they even acknowledge our existence. I DO know that directly mentioning tPF at any of Ebay's in-house forums will get your post pulled and sometimes the poster might get Pink-slapped. :graucho:

I don't know if that attitude carries over to Paypal.

 I can see some crazy girl with a tape, measuring each square and figuring up the entirety of the signature c!

I can't find the post with the link to that guide, can you repost it? I looked at it the other day but I didn't save it to my favorites :panic:
