I think I already know the answer...

The only valid comparison of a bag's details is to compare it with another bag in the exact same style, year and plant. But at least compare the same STYLE. There are usually others of the same style number listed on Ebay and just searching "Coach 14523" would have found at least one other. Even if one style of bag has a C pattern lining doesn't mean that they all do.

Lack of signature C lining doesn't necessarily mean a bag is fake. All of the F14523 Peyton totes sold on eBay in the past 3 months have polka dot lining.

Eta: Now that I think about it, none of my lined bags have signature C lining. Interesting.

It seems genuine.

Condition is a bit rough though, I see some ink marks on the leather. And you have to hope that Coach still has the larger replacement turnlocks in stock that were probably used on this style.

See my previous post. And as I've said in the Salearea Guides, Coach changes details CONSTANTLY. Just because one bag has a C lining doesn't mean they all do.

Nope. I bought a solid color leather exterior, cloth lined bag made in 1993 last night that has a solid color lining. If I recall correctly, there's only 1 usually true rule about lining- signature exterior bags almost never have a signature lining. The recommended Salearea guides have a lot of stuff to remember.

The Willis you're asking about is NOT genuine. The other with the serial number beginning with C4B- probably IS genuine.

This one has a serial number that looks like N9E-9927 and the creed says it was made in the US. There are not one but TWO invalid codes in the serial number, for the month and the plant.

Oh! I see now that it is a N9E. At first I saw it as No No and some lines then the style numbers. Thank you Hyacinth! Reporting it!

I'm not concerned with the creed number font, but the turnlock looks the wrong shape. Are the pictures distorted or does it really look that round?

Sorry it distorted when I resized it down for the site to accept them, it looks like a normal more ovalish turnlock.

The bag is authentic.

I just want to add that with regard to the "rule" you stated, to date, it's only a full signature exterior bag that shouldn't have signature lining. There are several styles of patchwork bags with a variety of exterior patterns including siggy that DO have signature lining. (That Coach rule might change at some point, thus my "to date" reference.)

Is it the Signature Jack Russell Terrier from around 2002? About 11 inches high? Those are collectors' items, they came with a plaid wool coat too but those were often separated pretty quickly. Style number 8443. Nice find!

YES Hyacinth it is , and your right it doesn't have the coat but the collar is on with a bonus silver hangtag!

Thank you so much. I appreciate your help. I should have known better. I actually own a WAKO bag. Not the Coach "Wako" fake, but an actual Wako bag. I remember purchasing the handbag and doing research and finding out about the fakes. Shame on me...lol:shame:
