Hi. Please authenticate or confirm my suspicions. The back of the brass ring for the turnlock (sorry. Don’t know the actual name!) has indentations & the way the edging is stitched so poorly that it makes me believe it’s fake. Thanks for your help.

Comment: I’m wondering, do the D rings look original to you? They look bigger to me but it just may be because it’s nickel.
They're both fake.

So I can learn, what told you they are fake? Was it the things I commented on or the Creed & other things also?
It's mostly the creeds. This listing https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Co...500967?hash=item1cc7ff9867:g:99oAAOSw8SdcTOxi has a good example of what a G9C creed should look like. The E9C wouldn't be much different. On these fakes, the numbers are too rounded, and the "No." has too long of an underline. These specifics only apply to US plant C creeds.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! I would never have even thought to question the authenticity before learning so much from you ladies! I feel bad for whoever buys them but I guess “Buyer Beware”!

You can report them as fakes to ShopGoodwill.com - I reported a fake to them once and they thanked me and ended the auction.

Comment: I can barely read the serial number in the picture of the bag. The Entrupy certificate says the serial number is K2L-9973. That is not the style number for a Willis. Also the zipper pull looks like the wrong kind.

ETA and the padding on the tab isn't right.
And yet another Entrupy f-up!

I contacted them to get a photo thinking it was a typo on both the COA & description. I told them both serial numbers were incorrect for a Willis. Here’s the photo of the creed with serial number which is wrong. Any chance it’s just a factory error?

Yup, definitely fake. NOT a factory error; it's another Entrupy error!

K2L-9973 is going to be added to the fakes list. I've found several, including an old post with another non-camera bag with the wrong serial/style number.

So disappointed! I’ll message them about it. Any suggestions on what to say?
If you've paid, tell them you want refunds because both are fake. If you haven't paid, let them know you want to cancel because they're fake.

You might also advise them that they (and other shopGoodwill locations) may want to reconsider using Entrupy because of the number of mistakes their AI program has made.

My feeling is that if enough people who find out they got fakes file claims with Goodwill, maybe Goodwill will see that the authentication company they're using isn't dependable.

Fortunately this item isn’t up for auction for about 6 days. I just happened to see CatBird’s comment & wanted to post the creed photo I received & hear your thoughts. I already told them the serial number is wrong! I knew it had to be a fake but just in case there was some weird factory error I figured I’d ask. I plan to message them back to let them know this is a fake & Entrupy authentication wrong again. It’s unbelievable that Entrupy doesn’t even bother to look up the serial number! Are any of these types of services any good?

I don't believe a computer is as good an authenticator as a human who knows the brand.

There was a segment on 60 Minutes a while back where someone who "did" AI explained how it worked. As he explained it, mistakes happen more frequently at the beginning when the number of samples is smaller but when errors are pointed out to them and they feed the computer more examples of what's correct, those mistakes no longer happen. (The 60 minutes episode was on facial recognition but the gist of it is the same.)

As the volume of samples gets larger, the mistakes should become fewer and further between.

It seems to me that either Entrupy isn't inputting corrections when they err or possibly, they aren't aware of their mistakes and as such, don't know they need correcting.

True as far as things like facial recognition go. But faces don't have style numbers in the serial number that can be checked like Coach handbags can, to see if a Coach made from 1994 to the present at least has the correct style number although that by itself can't prove the aforementioned Coach is genuine. Unfortunately Entrupy's much-touted computer program can't even do that and the humans running the program are equally clueless and can't be bothered to check or maybe don't even know the significance of those serial numbers.

I wonder, what do they do, if anything, about checking the date stampings in LVs?.
