Comments: I’m not a Coach collector but found this recently at an estate sale and thought it was lovely. I’ve tried researching this bag but can’t find anything exactly like it. I know Bonnie Cashin made a pony express bag but the style is not like this. This looks more like the Cashin Carry Sling bags. I’m thinking it’s early to mid 60’s pre-creed.

That's an exciting find! The pins didn't come with it. I have almost the same bag with different lining. On mine, the entire inside is lined, including the handle. Mine has the Cashin-Carry label. Mine has a paperclip zipper pull. I believe yours could be a little older. It is from the mid 60s. I don't think I ever found an official name. I've been calling it an arm sling tote.

It looks good. The black spots in the eyes looks different sizes - I don't know why. What's with that third picture?

I think that's how they're supposed to be, or else they were just supposed to be sewn in randomly, check out Coach's drilldown pic for 92117:

Ah, I had one and the eyes were the same size. I think it was random. I've seen others on ebay that are different sizes.

It's been a number of years since I had this keychain in my possession so I'm speaking from memory. IIRC, the eyes were little black beads and depending on how they were sewn on and if they twisted slightly, they could appear crooked.

In fact, I've owned both straight and crooked-eyed lions.

Comment: serial number not shown (intentionally?) but creed font and spacing seem questionable. Handle looks wrong, stitching uneven.

It's probably fake, but I don't know if I would report it without seeing the number.

Hello all! Pardon to derive from AT Coach but I am looking for more information on Body Bag by Cashin for Meyers. There is a thread but it seems to have been inactive for awhile. Katev showed photos of her bag and would you guess.....(again NYC thrift stores are awesome...makes my head explode!!! ) I found one similar to hers while thrifting here. Thank you for any info!!!
