So far they've all been D5C- prefixes. If they all turn out to be Jade it must have been a very limited production color made only in one plant and for just a few months. The few 1995 catalogs I have don't even mention Jade as a color option, only Bottle Green, so I hope everyone gets the color they're hoping for.

Bottle Green is the only color listed in the 1995 Spring and Summer catalogs but Coach has sometimes made special colors, sometimes for one of their retail partners. I had a genuine Scribble Stitch Tote with Jade leather trim and even though each Scribble Stitch style came with only one trim color specific to that style, I also found a genuine one on Ebay in a Lime color leather trim that the seller said she'd bought at Macy's.
Thank you for the extra information! That's what makes collecting so much fun - finding a rare piece and learning a little bit of its history. I am hoping for jade but bottle green is fine too. I can already tell it's going to be the prettiest green of all my greens.

Note the additional bit of rampant speculation that I added. Back then it seems like MFF bags were made with the same quality and attention to detail as the boutique bags were, and they came from the same plant and probably the same production line as the full-price version. I wonder what the strap length was on the Outlet version though?

PICS AND STRAP MEASUREMENTS FROM ALL JADE COURT BAG BUYERS PLEASE !!!

Inquiring minds want to know!

That seems to happen a lot on this forum. Usually there are three. So maybe there is another one out there!

The one I bought ten or more years ago was donated to a non-profit in the Chicago 'burbs waaaaay back when, so there WAS another out there at one time. I didn't make a note about it having an outlet stamp but that's not surprising.

As for there being a third one out there now by a not-recommended seller that Splatnext mentioned, it's probably better if that one remains anonymous. I don't know who she means but 1 or 2 names come to mind and I wouldn't risk it. JMO.
ETA - can't see if there's an outlet stamp on that one but the seller doesn't deserve our business especially at that price. Interesting that she lists the strap drop as 18.5 inches so the "shorter strap on the maybe-outlet bags" seems to be holding even if we can't see an outlet stamp in her photos.

Comments: my first red bag find! Was it made in 2002? Or 1992? Confused about that. Thank you as always for your help.

Genuine Janice's Legacy made in 2002. Coaches made before 1994 didn't have any production codes (month, year, plant, OR style number) in the serial numbers. Read the Salearea Guides for more information.

Authentic, made in 2002. A bag made in 1992 would have an all numeric serial number, since they didn't start using the current system of numbering until 1994.

Yes, I don’t know why that slipped my mind, 1992 being before 1994 (duh!). Glad it’s friday! Long week. Thanks again for both of your help.
