Thank you @BeenBurned for taking the time to write this as well.

How I feel about the bags
-It's sad to admit but I really thought the bags were well cared for. hence the pricing that was set.

-I checked back on all descriptions of the bags and all it said was "condition is preowned". I dont expext the bags to be perfect but it really would have been best if these flaws were declared. see photos below.

-I am debating whether to ask for a flat 50% partial refund of the total I paid for 3 flawed bags OR ask for a full refund. However Im afraid if I ask for a full refund I might still shoulder the cost of returning the goods. Which means Im the one who will be losing money for nothing.

Here are the photos for the other 3 bags

item: duffle 9085
seller: corgidogstephen
comments:
-the strap and the opening of the bag, to use @houseof999 's words:like it has been dragged throigh concrete.
-I think with heavy use, the strap could snap because it is thin on some points.

item: station bag
seller:corgidogstephen
comments:
-there's a pinky nail sized hole at the side of the bag.
-even if I get this repaired, it wont be a neat restitch because of where the tear is.

item: court bag
seller: corgidogstephen
comments:
-this is the only "acceptable" bag of the bunch. theres a small hole in the piping, sadly in front of the bag.
-this I think I can live with.
-apologies the creed is slightly faded. couldnt get a decent shot of it

AGAIN- thabk you so much for being so patient and taking the time to explain things.

If the flaws weren't too significant I generally love the condition of the bags. Im just worried about the duffle strap and that paint job transferring on my clothes.

THANK YOU AGAIN Authenticators. and yes I will wait before I message the seller.
Omg return everything! It's not worth trying get partial refund or negotiate any deal because seller seems like a nightmare to deal with!

Dear Authenticators,
I'm sorry to pester again, but could I please ask for help on this one? It's at a local shop, and I would both like to know what it actually is (or is trying to be), and am trying to decide if I want to go back for it.

It is about the same size as a City bag, or perhaps a hair larger? I'm sorry, I didn't have a ruler with me at the time, but I did get photos. It has a slip pocket in back, zippered pouch above creed, and an outer pouch on the front that is "partially divided" by a "partial divider" (visible in third pic). Strap is adjustable via side buckles. Buckles had no writing on (which I know is standard, so I'm not worried about that, but did want to mention it even though I took a pic of one buckle.) I admit I'm not familiar with this style. What the heck is it?? (I will extend pics into a second post immediately following.) Thank you for any help!

(Apologies ... i attached one creed pic as thumbnail and the other as full image. oops)

Apologize *AGAIN* ... the partial divider is visible in *third* pic ... just corrected that in paragraph above. Pics and I never work well together.

few more pics

(And another apology ... I do realize I need better creed pics, which I would do if I decided to purchase.)

(editing once more to add ... Is this a Rambler? I've honestly never paid attention to the larger bags, so would never have even noticed. Again, I do apologize for the creed pics, but **if** there are no other obvious red flags, I might just go back and get a better creed pic. It's only four miles from my house.)

It's authentic. It is probably a pocket bag 9875. It looks a lot more like it was the inspiration for Rambler's Legacy than the original Rambler.

Ive been reading on how to file SNAD and read this, and I guess it is the right thing to do ( to return eberything and get a full refund together with shipping)

@akvt, I replied to your PM to me but since there's nothing "private" in my reply to you, I'll C&P it here because it can also help others:

What you've posted sounds like something you found on a blog or discussion group. It's not how ebay looks at disputes.

First contact the seller without opening a dispute. Let the seller know how and why you're unhappy, being very specific and even adding pictures. (Explain that dyed bags MUST be disclosed because of issues with color transfer or dye rubbing off.) Include a picture of the hole in the station bag stressing that repair would be sloppy at best. You can also mention the small wear through of the piping on the court bag, something else that wasn't shown or described.

Let him know you want to try to handle this without a dispute and ask how he would like to resolve because since you are in Singapore, his cost for return shipping will be high. (Explain that you are in Singapore and a return for "not as described" is the seller's responsibility.)

I've attached screen shots showing what to click for a "contact seller" issue before opening a dispute.

The following will be in your purchase history. Go to the upper right and mouse over "my ebay." Go to and click "purchase history."

On right, under "return this item," click on "more actions"
more-actions-png.4572020

Click on "contact seller"

Click on "other" and Click "contact seller." From there, you can type your message and attach pictures.

Let me know if this helps.

Oh wow, cool!
Ive checked prices and its at a good price for a rambler, so an extra perk that it’s actually a fore-runner. Just texted your authentication to hubby and he said “what are you asking me for? It’s birthday month go get it :) “. Daughter coming to car from school. Going to get it

Thank you again whateve, and thank you doing it from not the best pics. Thankyou!!

I have added comments now that we've seen pictures of what you received and compared them to those in the listings.

Since you haven't heard back from the seller, I think it's time to open a SNAD dispute. You can state that the items you received are not as shown in the listings. You aren't questioning authenticity but there's no doubt that the pictures in the listing are not the items you received.

Both listings (the daypack and the waverly bag) use stolen pictures, pictures that show differences from what the items are supposed to look like and different from the pictures shown in the listings. Most notable are the curly links (vs. thicker and rounder ones shown) and the extra ring (between the charm and the chain) on the ones you received but not on the stolen pictures.

If you open the legitimate SNAD case, the seller will be required to respond and if he denies the return, you can escalate. Ebay WILL find in your favor, either sending return shipping labels at the seller's expense or just issuing the refund without requiring you to return them.

In your description of the complaint, you can show whateve's comps and point out the differences. You can also point out that the pictures in the listing were stolen from other seller(s), and if necessary, include links to the other seller's listing.

ETA: Attention buyers: Avoid stevan01. You will NOT receive what is shown in listings.

He finally replied and accepted the return, now waiting for the label to ship back. Thanks.

Good Morning Authentication Goddesses,
I found this on Mercari (new listing). I was trying to cross reference the SaleArea guides and it seems legit, but would love your input.
Thank you!
Seller katherine_c

DO NOT PURCHASE!
5130 is style number for station bag. The style number for this bag should be 9955.
Many other things are wrong. I got burned buying a fake of this style without authenticating here first and it was a nightmare getting my money back. This is a highly faked style!
The bag is fake and the seller katherine_c was informed (politely) that it's not authentic.

To katherine_c's credit, she ended her listing "pending verification of authenticity" but subsequently reinstated her listing, sending me the following. I can't respond to correct or dispute.

I guess this proves the adage that no good deed goes unpunished

KATHERINE_C'S MESSAGE: Just an FYI before you run around on your high horse and message another person with false claims they are illegally selling a counterfeit item, that it is not a fake. Those numbers, while USUALLY associated with the bag you mentioned have in fact been used on other models and the embossing, stitching and material further establish the bag's legitimacy. Furthermore, the year of this bag came at a time when counterfeits were not what they are now and a bag of this size and shape would not have been desirable for replicating - per someone who knows what they are actually talking about.

As @houseof999 commented, she DID get a fake of that bag and we've seen others.

Genuine, from the early 1990s.

We don't have to warn you about Poshmark and their Don't Give A Feck attitude toward fakes, do we? I hope that's already been covered.

You did :) which is why I'm checking. I wholly appreciate that you do this!!
Knowing for sure for sure is a huge help. I love handbags and didnt realize the world of counterfeit was as large as it is. So a HUGE thank you to you for doing that thing you do!!

Oh lordy. (shakin my head). "Those numbers" "have been used on other models." Uhhh, no, not as an actual style number -- that's kind of the definition of the phrase 'style number'. The only innocent way out of that statement is if she's pointing to a pre-94 bag, where 5130 just happens to be the seemingly random set of four digits. I can't even think of any other 'innocent', 'benefit of the doubt' way to interpret that claim. But that would in turn mean that she is not familiar with the 94 change, which further means she's in no position for even an educated guess. Sigh. I also thought it was cute (sarcasm) the implication that you went out of your way to "find" her. (stifled snort).
