The general awfulness of that bag lingers, almost as much as the wanna be red Weston with missing dowels he had up a few years ago . . .
It’s like he finds the worst fakes to round out the authentic. If you have to proceed, do so with extreme caution . . .
As I said in the past, it's too bad ProVintageGear doesn't verify his items because he does get some nice authentic inventory.

But IMO, a seller who mixes, a seller who thinks he/she is expert enough to "know" authenticity, a seller who doesn't learn from his/her mistakes is MORE dangerous than a seller who has never listed the real deal. (At least you know that that seller who never sells authentic pushes carp. But a seller like the Etsy seller builds a strong sense of security among customers and it makes me wonder how many buyers have been ripped off.)

Not the first and not the last. There are so many sites and sellers to avoid.

And so many who are just too proud (or cocky) to ask for help.

ETA: it’s not the first time EBTH aka everything but the house has been notified that they have fakes.
https://forum.purseblog.com/search/8968355/?q=Ebth&o=date
My next door neighbor works for EBTH. I have told her before and it goes no where even if she tells them. EBTH doesn't care.

This one is fake. The style is from about 2004 and wouldn't have been made in 1996 (the year indicated on the creed). And did you notice that the creed describes a leather bag for this not leather item? Additionally, the "J" plant code is for a Chinese factory but the creed states that the bag was US-made.

Add EBTH to the list of sites that ignore reports of fakes:
Etsy
Poshmark
Mercari
Shopgoodwill
iOffer (though they don’t claim honesty or integrity)

Also TheRealReal although I don't know if anyone has ever tried to report fakes to them.

And how long has it been since we've even heard the name "iOffer"? They seem to have dropped off everyone's radar. Do they still even sell designer brands? Or does everyone who buys from them know they're probably buying fakes and just don't care? From just a quick look and the abundance of handbag listing titles like "hot handbag women bag" it looks like the Chinese El Cheapo Bags sellers have made it their home away from home. There's a grand total of THREE bags listed under "coach bag" and they're all genuine.

How the mighty have fallen!

Thanks very much. I thought something seemed off but I’m new at this. I appreciate it.

So all these sites do not care about selling counterfeit items, they must know is against the law. How they get away with it? Only if the "brand" report them?

Etsy removed one of my listings once, because I mentioned a name brand on the title, (not that it was, but that it could work with XX). They sent me a message from their legal department, saying that they had received notice of the Company XX, to the effect that I broke copyright laws, etc... I had seen other people doing the same thing yet their listings remain, when I wrote back to Etsy just to ask why mine and not the rest, they totally ignored me.

I don't know much about TRR but another that I thought of was Vestiaire Collective. When notified that an item is fake, they remove the post and (usually) block you.

I included iOffer because it's had such a long history but a recent check either implies a lawsuit (or 2 or 3 or more) or searching has become more difficult. Maybe there are secret ways to search for fakes!

I've never seen a fake that I reported on Etsy removed unless the seller was honest enough to remove her own listing when personally notified.

But I have successfully gotten listings (of authentic items) removed when the sellers stole my pictures and I reported through when I reported via a DMCA takedown request. (I've done it on Poshmark, Tradesy, Etsy, Ioffer and Ebay.)

In my experience, that's the only way to get some of these sites to act on reports but it's the rights owners who have to report the infringement when it comes to intellectual property, i.e., images and text.
