And why I (personally) won't authenticate listings that are on Poshmark.

It's too bad because not all sellers there are dishonest but between the site doing nothing to help with removals of fakes and sellers who list there knowing that they can unload their carp, everyone suffers.

If I may.....
I wanted to add, that Poshmark will threaten you with closing your account (more or less), if you do not keep your nose in your own business, like they did to me. I guess after I posted a POLITE note on someones totally FAKE Coach bag, she not only got nasty in her reply, but reported me for harassment. There are real peaches over there.

Are you serious?! How ridiculous. Poshmark does not care about buyers apparently. $$$$$

It looks dodgy to me but what do I know about these things.Would someone kindly take a peek.Thank you.

First, if you haven't already found the thread on the Salearea Coach Guides and the Daria48 Fake Numbers List, this would be a good time to read through them both since several problems mentioned in them are on the bag you're looking at.
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/

First is the serial number. The Daria48 Fake Numbers List's original title was actually "NT-4903 and Other Fake Coach Numbers" so there's the first problem. The serial number in that bag is such a common fake that the List used it in the title. The entire number is invalid and style number 4903 belongs to a completely different bag.
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/page-3#post-33239557

The second problem is mentioned in the Salearea Guide on Vintage and Classic leathers:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/page-2#post-32253116
"As long as a fakes maker was willing to invest some time and money in high-quality leathers and skilled craftspeople, classic Coaches could be surprisingly easy to counterfeit. The major mistake was often what looks like overprocessing, maybe stretching or stressing the leather too much to try and give it that same flexibility and softness as a vintage Coach. The fakes often end up with leather covered in small surface wrinkles that resemble the stretch marks a pregnant woman can get. Some stretching of a well-used genuine bag is normal but usually the stretched "elephant skin" will be in high-stress areas like the bases and bottom corners where a lot of the bag's contents settle and pull at the leather. The stretch marks on the fakes can be all over the bag, and in places where there should be no stresses at all. That kind of unusual leather damage can be a red flag, and is usually found with some strange mistakes in the creed or serial number."

Look at the seller's photos of the front of the bag, especially the second one. Those horizontal wrinkles are the "elephant skin" stretch marks mentioned in the Guide. The leather has been overprocessed and overstretched and there are wrinkles all over the bag where there shouldn't be any. The fake "Coach new york" stamp is mentioned in one of the Guides too, it should never be in the center of a leather panel, only at the top or the bottom.

And the creed stamping is really sloppy too, especially the Coach logo at the top of the creed, the Cs are a mess. So yes, your instincts were right and it's fake.

Here are photos of the problem areas. The pics are large so I made them thumbnails, click on the pictures to open
stretch marks + NT-4903-a.jpg stretch marks + NT-4903-b.jpg

ETA - all seller " jsayed2011 " would have had to do to avoid listing a fake is to simply Google the serial number, so they obviously don't even try to authenticate their listings. NOT someone I'd recommend dealing with!

Yes, I was shocked when I read their email, this happened soon after I had joined and thought that they would be an alternative to Ebay, well not.... So BUYER'S BEWARE.
The authenticators and many members here have been advising BUYER’S BEWARE for years here. I know it would be somewhat labor intensive to do a search of the Cesspool on this thread , but if you could weed through the AT requests, you will see many posters have received really poor treatment. I won’t say never, but I just don’t look at listings there for prospective purchases, and I can’t support a site that would give a seller a hard time on proving her bag was legit and a buyer that her bag was fake. I could only buy there if it was a crazy HG deal. But I don’t generally search there so others will see that crazy HG deal before me!
Also, as much as I would like to politely inform someone their listing/bag is fake, there is only a small chance they would welcome the news. I will only report to the admin. That is another reason I just don’t have time for a sight that does not support removing fakes.

The biggest issue with Poshmark is that if you do end up with a fake, their authenticators will deem it authentic and refuse to refund you. This has happened time and again with Poshmark. If they are doing this over and over, then their authentication promise is useless. It does no good to buy a bag over $500 there and have it go through their authentication process.

Also I know of people who have had problems with Poshmark not accepting returns due to the condition being not as described.

I have read (multiple times so shame on me lol) how the authenticators do not recommend Poshmark due to them not removing fake bags. But the rest of this info is newish to me and is so sad and honestly angering. I didn’t know their mistreatment of customers and refusals of refunds runs so deep and I don’t like it. Again I thank the authenticators and others who take the time to help the rest of us and for repeating themselves until their blue in the face lol

So where do we get these Poshmark authenticator jobs? Maybe we should pay goodwill $3 for their authentication certificate authenticating us as genuine authenticators?

Yep, working on a credit card dispute right now as they did the thing listed above--stated a bag was authentic when it is definitely a fake. I went through PMs process, so now I can do the credit card route, and hopefully that will go well.

We're one step ahead of you.

Usually any of the authenticators here who identifies a listing from a REPUTABLE (meaning they remove reported fakes) site like Ebay will report it to the site at the same time.

Hello! I recently purchased this purse at a yard sale and wanted to know your opinion.
Creed No. D2P-9715
From searches online, it looks like it might be called a Legacy Companion?
Measures approximately 8” high by 8” wide and 2” wide on the bottom.
Thanks for your time!
