Wow, so you have to have bags of a certain age to be able to sell them on Etsy? I had no idea about this restriction.

I'll bug her again for a clearer photo because I agree that one is awful. And I cannot understand how she never noticed the hardware was missing. The bag clearly shows signs of significant wear. Perhaps she's selling it on behalf of someone else.

Thank you @BeenBurned !
Etsy is for handmade or vintage. It has to be one or the other. Vintage means at least 20 years old.

Purely for my own education, I didn't think coach used the number 1 during this time so not to be confused with letter I. Is this an older bag or am I completely confused. Thanks!
They used one for the year code. They had to, they couldn't just skip that year. The letter I was skipped for month codes usually but there are some exceptions. They used the letter I as a plant code. So, the only thing they avoided was using the letter I for a month code.

Ok, I was very confused. So that’s a December 2001 bag? Thank you for the help!!!

Well, at least if you ever run out of toilet paper, you can always use the certificate.

Actually, that one's genuine, but with a 50 percent change of getting the correct answer by just flipping a coin, they'd have to get one right sooner or later,

Soho Mini Bucket from 1998.
Yes, I'm sure that would be the best use for an Entrupy cert!

Thanks so much, Hyacinth! You ladies are so kind and generous to share your knowledge with us, I hope you all realize how deep the appreciation runs. Y'all are truly PRICELESS!

And this one too if possible please

Also, Is there a reputable authentication service anyone can recommend for another brand bag? Ive seen a couple mentioned here that don't sound so good.

You could try asking at the forum for that brand, or PMing one of the acknowledged experts for a recommendation if no one wants to recommend or UN-recommend an authenticating service in public. Maybe BeenBurned might have some advice?

AUTHENTICATE This COACH

Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

Please follow the following rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.

    Item:

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

  • Please note that comments on price and condition are NOT permitted.
  • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests should be posted in this thread.

Thank you @BeenBurned !
And you'll notice that any listings that are "vintage" automatically show as "Vintage from before 2000."
