Hello,

I found this bag at a thrift store and rehabbed her. (I love her). I am not sure if she is authentic nor do I know much about her. I think this was part of Coach's original Dakota line. She is pebbled leather and per the creed was made in Italy. The creed is stamped 'irregular'. Questions: Is this authentic? What is her name and when would she have been manufactured? Why is she stamped irregular?

Authentic Dakota Lariat Bag, style #4205, introduced in 1992. Stamped irregular because for some unknown reason it didn't meet quality control standards at the time.

Well, at least if you ever run out of toilet paper, you can always use the certificate.

Actually, that one's genuine, but with a 50 percent change of getting the correct answer by just flipping a coin, they'd have to get one right sooner or later,

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

Just to ease your mind about the "irregular" stamp - I've seen dozens of those stamps and have never found ANYTHING wrong with any of the bags. Don't worry about it. The only "problem" I can see with this one is that the creed stitches are a bit angled instead of perfectly straight.

Authentic, but measurements are needed if you want it identified.
