This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

Thanks, we really just need a pic of the back of the turnlock with the prongs. If there's nothing stamped on the back of the buckles, then we don't need a photo, and of course there's no magnetic snap, but any bags that DO have those larger mag snaps need to have clear photos included of the "male" half so we can read what if anything is stamped there.
That absolutely makes sense! The strap hardware definitely did not have any “coach” stamping on it like other fakes. I opened the bag but didn’t really pay any attention to the prongs. I’m actually running out in a bit and will take a picture. I feel like “thanks” isn’t enough sometimes. The authenticators’ knowledge about these beautiful bags is so valuable!!!

Kind authenticators, when you have the time could you please take a look at this? TIA

Item: Coach Vintage Leather bag
Listing number: 11509628714
Seller: Georgia Girl
Link: https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m11509628714/?ref=search_results
Comments: I did some searches and looked in my catalogs and I can find similar color on newer ones, not one from 1999. (The creed is better when zoomed in, but still not totally clear. If real, I would love to buy this.

Please wait for WHATEVE or BEENBURNED to take a look, my computer usually refuses to enlarge Mercari photos and I can't read the creed. I know Whateve has mentioned a Rambler's Legacy in an unusual blue color so this may be one of those bags. Not all colors made it into the catalogs, and sometimes Coach did outlet-only colors and even special colors for her retail partners like Macy's.

ETA - OK, tried a different browser and now it can Zoom. The problem is that it looks like an E plant code with a United States creed, which is NOT good. If Whateve is around I'd really like her to add her opinion. Here's what I'm seeing:

I can enlarge it by right clicking and selecting view image but it still isn't clear enough. I think I'm seeing a prefix of H9E which doesn't make me comfortable. My unusual colored Rambler's legacy was made in 2005.

Did you get a chance to look at the photo I was able to enlarge?

I think this one falls into that "Scary Good Fake" category.

Hello again,

Here is one that I am interested in, but real suspicious of. Thought please.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Co...:bO0AAOSw04ddFWec:sc:USPSPriority!77083!US!-1

It's fake, the serial number font is wrong and it looks like the strap grommets are silver.
Be sure to include seller ID when requesting an authentication.

The seller of the fake bag is cooks015 and according to my records, that same fake was listed and removed in February.

The creed stamp with the Carriage emblem on top is a complete fake, and there's NO serial number either. A VERY close copy of a vintage bag with a creed and even what looks like a Made In white tag on the inside. The hangtag looks odd too.

I know Coach has updated the Willis a few times but did they ever make an exact copy between 2014 and 2017 that would NOT have had a serial number? Opinions, please if anyone knows.

The bag is definitely fake. (And thank you @Hyacinth for saving the pictures because I missed vintagesplendor's listing before it was removed.)

The remakes were done in 2005 (give/take) and had serial numbers and did not have HAC logos.

Without being able to read the creed, it can't be definitively authenticated, but it looks like it might be the same bag AND same color as the bag for which I posted the creed pic above! (The creed I posted is from an authentic bag.)

Yep, glad I moved fast to save those pics. T&S must be wide awake today.

ETA - Here's one more for your collection that I didn't get a chance to post. Another Scary Fake rears its ugly head.

I would LOVE to know where vintagesplendor found that bag. Hard to tell if she sells many Coaches since almost all of her Feedback is Private.

I've wondered for a long time if vintage styles were STILLbeing faked. Guess that answers that question. Wonder if it's China or our old buddies in the ROK?
