May I please request an authentication for this Willis I bought on eBay?

Item: Coach 9927 Willis Leather Shoulder Bag Handbag Cross-body Vintage

Comments: is this one of those 2004 bags but with a 1994 creed from the Costa Rican plant right before it closed? I have a red one like this from one month earlier and Hyacinth mentioned it was actually from 2004, not 1994. If that's the case, any thoughts on how this bag will rehab? I know the newer bags don't rehab as well as the vintage bags but 2004 is kind of in the middle of those years, not vintage but not new. I've attached a photo of the creed that I took this morning. Thank you so very much!!

It's fine. yes, 2004. I don't know how it will rehab. My 2005 rambler's legacy didn't rehab well, and it was made less than a year later. This bag was made in December 2004, so almost 2005, but my rambler's legacy was made in China, so you can't compare.

Authentic and yes, 2004.

I can't comment on rehabbing but others can.

Thank you!! I appreciate the quick response! I guess I'll go ahead and rehab it and post updates in the rehab thread in case that info might be useful to someone else later on. Thanks again!!

Hey I just got this at my local Goodwill Store yesterday and I was wondering if it’s real or not? Any guidance would be appreciated.

So my husband just surprised me with a bag I was watching on Ebay. Now that I have it in my possession it's kind of odd. The zipper (I know it dosent matter but its weird), the strap is double sided leather, it's an NYC bag but seems off.

Seller: trolard2

Hoping Whateve is around to look at it, if not you can ask at the Vintage Chat thread or the ID This Coach Item thread, both at the main Coach forum. It's genuine and probably from the late 1970s or early1980s but I don't know what style it is. The strap may have been replaced, and you didn't take a close enough photo to show the name or logo on the inside zipper pull.

Thank you Hyacinth! Let me take a pic of that zipper.

Thanks! I found a few listings for WILLSE zippers, apparently they were a brand from the 30s and 40s so the pull or maybe the entire zipper might also have been a replacement..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/163656329286?ul_noapp=true.

https://www.marksxstore.xyz/closures-connectors-c-59_60_1745/

and here's a mention of them from a tPF post from last year:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/vintage-coach-photos-chat.857690/page-648#post-32455825

and even better:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/vintage-coach-photos-chat.857690/page-648#post-32456054

Maybe Coach found some old stock in one of their plants and decided to use them up. If they were used in some Cashin bags they would have been available at least into the early 1960s.

ETA - as for the bag, we've seen a few others like it that seem to be a larger version of the Small Shoulder bag that Lake Effect mentioned which seems like it was a Classic Shoulder Bag 9170 but with a turnlock. Here's her earlier post that she just mentioned down-thread:
