Indeed, the "boxier" later design of the double entry swinger (the version with the leather covered kisslock frames and edges with binding) only came unlined. I suspect that the decision to do away with the lining led to going with bound edges in order to give the interior a more finished and clean look. Linings were useful for hiding the exposed edges and stitching on designs with finished edges. Also, bound edges permitted the use of thicker leather for the body of the bag.

RL Bernstein, you are a JEWEL. Thank you!

( Personally, I like the leather covered frames and bound edges. Never was one for a lot of chrome or brightware. )

Thank you for all the info it makes me love the bag even more.

Completely FAKE. The serial number is a known and always fake one, the "overstamping lines" are wrong for the numbers they're supposed to be part of, and the number has been mentioned in the old Daria48 Fake Coach Numbers List that's still posted at Ebay UK and could be found easily with a Google search for "coach 0444-315". There are also many posts, four pages worth, about it right here at tPF going back to 2008. That's one reason why the Rules in the first post in this Authenticate This thread says to search here at tPF first.

And since when is the word "scrAtches" spelled WITHOUT THE LETTER 'A'"? EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE FAKES HAS EXACTLY THE SAME MISTAKE.

Maybe your friend didn't know it was fake, but there are a lot of ways to find out that it is.

Thanks! I knew something was off - I’m sorry I forgot to search the forum first before posting.

I just hope you didn't invest any of your own money, or start spending time and money on a rehab.

Searching the forums here is one of the easiest means of self-protection anyone can have against known fakes and shady sellers and websites, and the posts here will also usually show up in a Google search too. There are amazing resources here once you know where to look for them.
