  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

And the frame at the top is leather-covered on the white one but bare metal on the tan one. The one with the white leather-covered frame looks like the more expensive item.

Keep in mind - except for a few VERY expensive and iconic styles, there's no copyright law that protects construction designs and details, one company can knock off another one's style as long as they don't infringe on any of that company's registered copyrights or trademarks. It's how the less prestigious or creative names in the fashion industry keep their doors open.

I was going to suggest looking for a date on the booklet. Sometimes it is coded, like 0472 means April 1972.
@RL Bernstein posted recently that metal tags preceded leather imprinted logos, so it was probably made between 1972 and 1974.

And look at the link to the white one just above yours in post 35907. That one looks almost the same and it DOES have the stamped logo. What's odd is the the seam on the bottom of the white one is at 90 degrees to the bottom seam on the tan one. I guess from the trim difference that they may be 2 different styles, but I can't say if the tan one is a Coach.

Another one that Whateve needs to look at.

The seam is not a problem. I think I've seen it both ways. However, there should be a Coach label somewhere. Hangtags don't count. It's possible there is a logo or creed inside one of the pockets. We need to see that in order to authenticate.

Both of mine were metal tagged with striped lining, no leather covering on the frame, and a horizontal seam on the bottom like the one on Goodwill. The unlined versions came later. In order to have the logo imprinted in the leather, it would have to be inside one of the unlined pockets.

BB is right. It's a watermelon satchel 9441. There was also a watermelon tote that didn't have a zipper. This one has a paperclip zipper pull, which is something I like as a collector. It was made in the mid 70s.

How interesting! Thanks for the extra info. I’d love to try to rehab it, but I don’t know if there’s anything I could really do about the damage on one of the handles.

May I please request an authentication on this Casino bag and wallet in my possession? The creed is very faded, this is the best picture I could get. It looks like it says "No K_D 9924". I cannot make out the date number at all. The purse measures 8L x 2W x 5H. The wallet measures 4.5L x 1W x 3.5H, approximately. Thank you!
