Not always. Some sellers have a low feedback score because they set up a new account after being kicked off ebay. There are a lot of sellers with low feedback scores selling fakes.

While we can do whatever we are moved to, one thing I know is that the ladies here have more experience collectively than I ever could around calling out fakes, and I have no reason to doubt them on any aspect of dealing with a fake bag. In a perfect world, I would contact a seller, but their experiences are enough for me.
I have also had the opportunity to see how obnoxious some sellers of fakes are here when they come to complain, and my favorite is, that their bag can’t be fake because they know Coach!
I purchased several bags before coming to the forum and made sure I got them authenticated because if I sell them, it is my responsibility to ensure they are authentic.
That's totally cool. Here's a weird question. If there are frustrations with the online sellers and second hand, why not buy directly from Coach.com or directly from a retailer like Macy's or Saks (for example)? They have many reduced sales and you wouldn't have to question if it's real or not...cause it's real. I am sure everyone here knows Coach, but just curious. With a lot of brick and mortar retailers closing stores, wouldn't it just be a lot easier process while still supporting traditional retailers and, possibly, local business? Just trying to understand.

Nearly everything I've bought from online sellers weren't available from Coach or traditional retailers at the time. A lot of my collection is vintage and the only option to find these is second-hand. The same is true for the majority of my collection that is from several years ago. The most recent Coach bag I bought was made in 2016. I bought it on ebay NWT because it was cheaper than from Coach.

You're a seller. Why do people trust you?

My answer is the same as Whateve's. Most of my bags are 5 to 30+ years old, so tell me where at Coach dot com those are available for sale. If you look through even a few dozen pages of this thread at least half the authentication requests are for older and vintage bags. The few times in the last 10 years or so that I've wanted a brand new style, I've bought it directly from Coach or one of its large retailers, usually on sale, during a PCE, or from the Factory Online Sales. But not everyone has a chance to buy brand new from the retail stores. If they did, sellers like you would be out of business.

I don’t mean to sound flip, but because I can get authentification here first, if I am patient, I don’t have frustration or issues with buying fakes. And I won’t contact sellers who sell fakes. I report them to eBay.
I think it safe to say everyone here likes Coach, and knows a bit about Coach, but it is the authenticators that know what details to look for and how they vary from bag to bag year to year.
Like other responses, I buy bags that are no longer made. You must not be familiar with Coach, or else you would know of lately, at most they carry a few styles for a few years and then discontinue them. Many styles now seem to be only available for a year or two.

There are also a lot of high feedback sellers who (knowingly or not) mix fakes and authentic items.

Good morning, ladies, the authenticators' opinion about my recent purchase will be very much appreciated!

I hope this Lenox is real. The only thing that looks just a bit off to me is the color because it's a little brighter than other bags in British Tan from that era I've seen before. But, again, those were not the same in color, either - I understand it changed from year to year. And it doesn't look like the color has been altered.

Thank you!

P.S. May I add as a side note that I very much appreciate your deep knowledge of Coach brand? I don't get to use your expertise often, but I sure know how much time and effort each of you spend to help people who come to this place with questions - without asking anything in return. Rude, obnoxious people count just for a tiny minority of the site's visitors, and they do not represent this community in any way. They come and go, and the real TPFers are truly your fans who are always grateful for the advice and experience you share so readily. Thank you once again, and may my words erase the dirty footsteps of every bad-mannered, self-centered passerby who came here by sheer accident!

It's authentic but I have no idea of the name.

Thank you for your kind words.

Not necessarily. I don't sell all Coach brands, but a big mix of different designers and brands. I mix it up. Also, eBay and Coach puts the breaks on sellers that list a high percentage of Coach vs other brands and designers. When I first started selling, they put a restriction on me and said I was selling way too many Coach purses. This was coming directly from Coach and they really frown upon ebay sellers trying to be exclusive Coach sellers. So, for me, opened the door to other designers and brands. Coach is a good brand, but I won't be out of business if everyone went to Coach.com. I would be very happy for the Coach corporation. Over the last decade, they have really produced a huge ton of designs and I read they are scaling back...giving the brand the exclusiveness it once had decades ago. :)
