Thank you so much! I can't get eBay to remove the listings I report. They let a seller scam $425 out of a poor buyer of fake Rogue 25.

I'm going to report this anyway. See if it gets removed.

I'm going to chime in with a third reason and a fourth reason why it's not recommended that a member contact another.

3. Many sellers know exactly what they're selling and don't appreciate being caught and called on it. Those sellers will report you for harassment (as Hyacinth mentioned) but worse, they can succeed in getting YOU (the messenger) suspended from ebay for "misuse of the ebay messaging system." And if suspended, it's next to impossible to appeal and have ebay rescind the permanent suspension.

4. @pegmo , you mention that "some Coach fakes look so close to real, they probably are not aware." While it's possible that the seller isn't aware, a seller who follows the law (and ebay policy) knows that it's a seller's responsibility to know items are authentic before listing. And if that seller doesn't know or isn't expert (or didn't personally purchase directly from a legitimate retailer), she should verify authenticity.

So even if the seller made an "honest" mistake, it's her own mistake and perhaps the removal ding on her account will make her think twice before listing another item that she may not personally know is genuine.

I'd love to be able to tell sellers that an item isn't authentic but I won't take the chance by risking my own account. That's what the "report" button is for and I will use it.
I get where you're coming from.
To add to the previous reply - some sellers have been known to report those kinds of contacts as Harrassment or Auction Interference. And if someone points out detail by detail exactly what's wrong with the fake, some crooked sellers just remove the photos showing the problem areas from their listings.

And some sellers, when contacted, simply go ballistic and reply to that well-meaning person trying to warn them with insults, obscenties, and even bidding on their items and filing false negative feedback. "Get a life", "What makes YOU such a ******* Coach expert?" "Oh yeah? Well my mom gave this to me, are you calling her a crook?" and a lot more, some of which are too filthy to post. We've seen and sometimes experienced all of the above and it ain't pretty.

Unless it's someone you actually know or already have a good relationship with, the safest thing is to let Ebay give them the bad news. Some sellers will STILL relist the fake but if they do and it gets reported again they could be on the road to listing restrictions or actual suspension of their selling priviledges,
I get that. However, I found that ebay sellers who have feedback scores of 10 or below are the ones most questionable and, most likely, not return a message or get defensive.

Look at the feedback score before you report. Usually, personally, I find ebay sellers with a low feedback score of 10 or below get defensive or don't return messages.

Not always. Some sellers have a low feedback score because they set up a new account after being kicked off ebay. There are a lot of sellers with low feedback scores selling fakes.

May I please request an authentication for this Court bag in my possession?

The size is approximately 9.5" L by 7.5" H by 3.5" W at the bottom of the bag. Is this British Tan or Tabac or something else? I lose track of which colors are called what and for which line.... THANK YOU!!

It's not Tabac because that color was not available in 1995 when your bag was made. It would have to be British Tan.

While we can do whatever we are moved to, one thing I know is that the ladies here have more experience collectively than I ever could around calling out fakes, and I have no reason to doubt them on any aspect of dealing with a fake bag. In a perfect world, I would contact a seller, but their experiences are enough for me.
I have also had the opportunity to see how obnoxious some sellers of fakes are here when they come to complain, and my favorite is, that their bag can’t be fake because they know Coach!
I purchased several bags before coming to the forum and made sure I got them authenticated because if I sell them, it is my responsibility to ensure they are authentic.

Please authenticate as time allows. No dash on creed has me wondering
