Zippers are YKK, but the o in “No” seems too big, and the wording “and attention to detail reflect” seems to be too crammed together in the creed. Also, stitching isn’t perfect. Bag measures 15” long x 9” tall x 4” wide at the bottom. Thank you!

Please read the Salearea Coach Guides thread pinned to the top of every index page in this Coach Shopping forum, especially the ones on Authenticity Guides and on the YKK Zipper myth. The brand on the zipper doesn't prove ANYTHING. And creeds from different styles, years, plants and even months can be totally different from other creeds. There's no such thing as "standard" creed details once the bag is more recent than 1987.

The bag is a genuine Bonnie's Legacy Zip Satchel from 2001.

Please authenticate 2 bags. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Comment: Any info please - name, date, etc

Second bag. Again, thanks in advance.
Item name: ??
Link: none
Black handled bag w/detachable shoulder strap
Measures approx 13" x 7" x 2.5"
Zip closure, zip interior pocket, leather/suede interior
Comment: Any info please - name, date, etc

Both are genuine, the first is a Sonoma Drawstring, Natural Grain from 1996, and the second is probably a Slim Satchel Large, style 9430 from the early or mid-1980s. The long shoulder strap was added by a previous owner, that's not how an original strap would usually have been attached.

Would somebody please help authenticate this Coach purse for me? I've been searching online for hours and cannot find the style because there's no creed inside the bag, which I've read is not necessarily a sign of a non-authentic bag.
See pics. The strap length is about 49.5 inches long. Size: L: 9 x H: 6.5 x W: 2.5 inches.
Thank you in advance!!!

May I please request an authentication for this Court bag in my possession?

The size is approximately 9.5" L by 7.5" H by 3.5" W at the bottom of the bag. Is this British Tan or Tabac or something else? I lose track of which colors are called what and for which line.... THANK YOU!!

I bought these two leather straps off ebay last week. They arrived today. No where on the hardware does it have the Coach Emblem like it does on coach purses. I am concerned they are not real Coach products....tia!

First, I'm going to editorialize. It's a pet peeve of mine when sellers remove parts from bags (straps, checkbook holders, charms, etc.) and sell those pieces separately. Either rmsdudqkrqkr2012 cannibalized her bags and is selling a bunch of strapless bags separately from their straps or she's borrowing the straps, zipper pulls, hang tags, dust bags from thrift store bags. In any case, IMO, it's a bit unethical.

Regarding your concern about the lack of the Coach name on the straps you bought, generally, the more the "Coach" name appears on items, the more apt the item to be fake.

Another concern is that it's difficult to know whether a strap is from a Coach bag or a similar leather bag unless there are specific details in the strap construction that point to it being from a Coach.

The strap in the first listing appears to be from a Coach bag.

My opinion is that the second strap (appearing to be from a leather classic/vintage item) can't be authenticated and can't be proven to have come from a Coach bag (unless the seller knows which bag she cannibalized!)

Other opinions are welcome.

authentic Court bag from 1995.

Playing devil's advocate. How come you never contact the seller directly before reporting the item? Some Coach fakes look so close to real, they probably are not aware.
I'm going to chime in with a third reason and a fourth reason why it's not recommended that a member contact another.

3. Many sellers know exactly what they're selling and don't appreciate being caught and called on it. Those sellers will report you for harassment (as Hyacinth mentioned) but worse, they can succeed in getting YOU (the messenger) suspended from ebay for "misuse of the ebay messaging system." And if suspended, it's next to impossible to appeal and have ebay rescind the permanent suspension.

4. @pegmo , you mention that "some Coach fakes look so close to real, they probably are not aware." While it's possible that the seller isn't aware, a seller who follows the law (and ebay policy) knows that it's a seller's responsibility to know items are authentic before listing. And if that seller doesn't know or isn't expert (or didn't personally purchase directly from a legitimate retailer), she should verify authenticity.

So even if the seller made an "honest" mistake, it's her own mistake and perhaps the removal ding on her account will make her think twice before listing another item that she may not personally know is genuine.

I'd love to be able to tell sellers that an item isn't authentic but I won't take the chance by risking my own account. That's what the "report" button is for and I will use it.
