thank you! I wasn't sure about the lines above and below the serial numbers. they looked weird. I have a few more bags that I also purchased (stress binge/shopping spree/new obsession with vintage coach/etc) that I'd also like to ask about

Thanks so much. Hopefully I did this right. It’s my first TPF post and first authenticate request. I just got into coach in the last year and intend to post my growing collection of coach purses, wallets, and accessories soon (those bag charms are too addictive!)

This is my first ebay coach purchase as well. Thanks again all. I wish I could have gotten this dinky 24 at the SAS or outlet but alas I was too slow. And it doesn’t seem they are making many new classic dinky 24 purses any longer so don’t want to miss out:smile:

Have you already purchased the bag?

While I think the pictures may show an authentic bag, there more pictures that are needed as well as there are things about the seller, mikestage that bother me.

I'd also like @houseof999 to look at the listing.

1. I'm not sure which of the pictures in the listings (others too) are his own because some pictures appear to be stolen from other sources/websites. Many listings show stock images, IMO a huge no-no for highly faked styles as well as the fact that infringing on the rights owner is wrong.
2. Seller isn't completely honest about source of at least some of the bags in his listings. For example, while this bag and this one are boutique styles, seller states in listing "Bought at retail store - Not outlet bag," the seller did NOT buy at a retail store. As indicated on the price tags in both listings, the bags came from the outlets. (There's nothing wrong with selling an outlet bag or a bag that was sent to outlets; my issue is with the dishonest statement regarding the source.)
3. Listing pictures aren't adequate. Seller doesn't show creeds or made in labels in listings.

There's nothing wrong with ANY of them.

I don't know where your details about what's normal and what isn't on older and vintage Coaches is coming from but you need to read the Salearea Coach Guides that are pinned to the top of every Coach Shopping Forum page, starting here:

You need to have Coach items authenticated BEFORE you buy, not after. If that's not possible or the seller won't allow it, don't buy it.

It's authentic. What's wrong with leatherware? Serial numbers are random so that one could and does exist. The hangtag looks fine too. That is what they looked like in the 80s.

I'll make the same comment I made in Post 31085 a few posts above this one when I told you that the "Problems" you mentioned about other listings weren't problems at all, and for you to read the Salearea Guides posted here, which it doesn't seem like you've done. How do YOU know or assume what's real and what's fake? WHERE are you getting your information from? And have you taken the time to look through Ebay listings for vintage Coach items to see what the hangtags looked like, or if Coach ever used "Leatherware", or what vintage Coach serial numbers looked like? You could learn a lot if you did.

Once again, PLEASE READ THE SALEAREA GUIDES THAT I POSTED THE LINK TO IN MY PREVIOUS POST IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT CLASSIC COACH STYLES AND DETAILS INCLUDING SOME BASICS ABOUT WHAT'S REAL AND WHAT ISN'T.
