I looked on eBay and there's a few that look like yours but none are complete in providing all the details needed for Authentication.
I'm also not really sure they can authenticate for you as they aren't trained to do so. However, an outlet employee will be able to tell you if they did have Mercers made for outlet. I know they just work there and sell. How many of the employees actually look at all the details to be able to tell difference from authentic to Coach, I don't know.

i see... thought the SA is trained enough to know if the bag is fake or not, guess i'm wrong.. thank you again @houseof999. in the meantime i just have to believe that my bag is authentic until it proved to be fake :P

Absolutely not there's no way they could be trained to recognise the small details that indicate a fake.

. And Coach says right on their website:
"Coach DOES NOT authenticate merchandise or determine whether serial numbers match actual Coach items. If you purchase an item from an authorized Coach retailer, you can be assured that the item is authentic."

I probably paid too much for this, but I have really been wanting a travel bag and they dont come up very often. I didnt have time to get it auth'ed before the auction ended because I was late to the game. Before I pay them, ease my fears and tell me I didnt make a mistake with a fake lol.

Thank you!

It looks fine. I don't think it was made in the early 60s, more like the late 60s, early 70s. The seller is in the US, not Canada.
I am fully expecting the price to rocket but I am hopeful
I saw that they were in the US after I looked closer. I was on Ebay.ca but it didnt limit it to just CA sellers. I have to filter it more. Thanks !!

Thank you!

I believe it's OK. It's a Cabin Bag Medium from February 1996. The "L" after the style number could mean that it was one of the free Cabin Bags that was included with a Special Edition that Coach did for Lexus in Spring 1996.

Here's a thumbnail from the Spring 1996 catalog, it takes a few clicks to open completely:

Both seem ok but the second one needs a better photo of the creed patch and serial number. That's isially the single most important detail needed to authenticate a Coach.

And don't be taken in by any site's claims that they "authenticate" beforehand. Most DON'T, and a few may look up the style number to see if it matches the pictures of similar styles, but that's all. None of them that I've seen actually examines the details of the items like we do and compares them carefully to photos of genuine bags. And none of them seem to have experts who specialize in most highly-faked brands.

And many sites like Poshmark, Listia, Facebook, Etsy and others have NO experts who can tell real from fake, and a buyer who ends up with a fake from one of those sites can easily get stuck with it because they seldom if ever refund money spent on fake items. They avoid paying out because most of them demand that a fake be verified by the manufacturer, and designer manufacturers simply don't do that, they don't have time to waste on free authentication or enough qualified experts to handle the volume of requests they would be getting. Their mantra is "buy directly from us, the manufacturer's store or site if you want a genuine item, we're not responsible for non-authorized merchandise". And those selling sites or "venues" won't even remove a questionable item when an actual expert reveals detail by detail why it's fake. As much as it pains me to say it, Ebay is still one of the safest sites to buy from along with Bonanza (who actually REMOVES fakes when reported).

Thank you so much for all this information I truly appreciate it. I will place the pic with a better look at creed. Also, what if they state that they refurbished or cleaned it..can you do that?
