The Bellini was listed as New in the Fall 1999 catalog, so an F8 serial prefix seems to be stretching it a bit. An R plant code from the US is also questionable but there's almost no record of R plant code items in my files so comparisons are impossible. Nickel hardware could have been used in 1998 and was the only color available with a red Bellini.

There isn't enough evidence to say it's fake so please don't report it. It may have been a pilot bag, but I personally wouldn't buy it.

Because the seller ID rang a bell, I did a little searching.

I want to just add that mfjrun recently sold this bag with an E plant code but creed stating that it's US-made.

Just purchased this from Macys so I am confident it is authentic, but I have looked everywhere in the bag and cannot locate the serial number inside the bag or on the sales tag. I chatted with a Coach rep on their website, but all she could tell me was that it should be on a white label inside the bag, but there is no white label. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Look inside the zippered pocket. It should be on a small tag sewn into the seam, probably on the bottom of the pocket.

I tried to post earlier and TPF was glitchy even using two different browsers.

The seller, ducksusa also sold another fake Coach bag last week.

That listing was also removed but this is a previous listing for the same fake:

In the interest of saving someone from buying a FAKE Coach bag (or receiving it as a Christmas gift!), I picked this up at Salvation Army last week for $2.49 (50% off day). I consider it a donation to a good cause. I knew the J8Y was trouble, as were many, many other details...virtually EVERY detail was wrong! But the leather will make some fine tassels I'm posting photos for those who may want to add them to their FAKE archives.

From Salvation Army in Orlando...in beautiful, like-new condition for $24.99!
Approx. 11.5"w x 8"h x 5.25"d Shoulder strap drops 23" to rings.
An early 90's Baxter Bag #9903, yes? I have one in navy with the more modern creed from 1994.
