Interesting! What's the difference between the older & newer cashins? Just the serial #s? Or is it a design/size thing?
Anything with a creed is not a Bonnie Cashin since they didn't start using creeds until after she left. Some of the styles were carried over, so you can get a purse that is a style designed by Bonnie Cashin. Normally we consider only those purses that were made when she was working for Coach as true Bonnie Cashin Coaches. Many, or possibly most, of those will have a Bonnie Cashin label. A lot of her original designs were lined, and the leather isn't the same.

I found two sellers, both from Oakland, CA and I'm looking for opinions on their keychains.

I have my own ideas but would like further opinions. I'll post TWO DIFFERENT LISTINGS AND STYLES with their pictures and a comp picture of a known authentic version of the same style.

My main concerns are with the chain links - shape and thickness gauge, with the enameled hangtag and with the lips.

1. Seller ppinklady2014

EDITED-
I THINK the first two in each set are fake, for the reasons you pointed out - cheap thin chains and Coach logos with fonts that don't match any of Coach's trademarked logo fonts. I need some time to compare them to other listings but I imagine you've already done that pretty thoroughly.

So far I agree with you, unless Coach's manufacturing standards have really gone to he!!. Even if they've been tempted to use really cheap-looking chains, I can't see them messing with their registered trademarks.

ETA - Also interesting that both ppinklady2014 and peiz-us are using exactly the same photo for the same fake F63854 Multi Hearts keychain.

The same photo of the fake used by "both" sellers on top, Coach's own photo is second

I wanted confirmation that you would see what I'm seeing.

Those are scary.

ETA: Please do check other listings. I already did it but another pair of eyes won't hurt.

Check my multi-edited post right above yours.

Here's a close-up of Coach's photo showing the bottom Heart charm and the thickness of the chain links on 63854. The placement of the charms is also different on the fakes.

Item: Vintage Coach red glove tanned leather Bellini Zip
Item no: 381077416839
Seller: mfjrun
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-COA...839?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item58b9fbeb87
Comment: plant code R and nickel hardware in 1998?

The Bellini was listed as New in the Fall 1999 catalog, so an F8 serial prefix seems to be stretching it a bit. An R plant code from the US is also questionable but there's almost no record of R plant code items in my files so comparisons are impossible. Nickel hardware could have been used in 1998 and was the only color available with a red Bellini.

There isn't enough evidence to say it's fake so please don't report it. It may have been a pilot bag, but I personally wouldn't buy it.

Because the seller ID rang a bell, I did a little searching.

I want to just add that mfjrun recently sold this bag with an E plant code but creed stating that it's US-made.

And she sold this one with a K plant from 1998:

And there was this post from back in March, 2014:

Personally, I wouldn't buy from mfjrun

There's no way to authenticate that bag. The first picture isn't the seller's own picture of the actual bag and the other two, even if her own pics aren't adequate for authentication purposes.

After I also inquired about some side markings on the bag...

The seller finally responsed that I probably would not like this bag and should not bother her further. Ha!

IMO, it's her loss. As a seller with just a few feedbacks, one would think she'd try to do whatever she could to instill confidence in her buyers. Evidently not.
