Please authenticate this bag in my possession. It is 11 X 14 X 5.5. I'd also like to know the name and approx. date of it. It zips at the top and has two inner pockets. I've never seen one before. Is it rare? Thanks!

This one looks like a Buckle Bag 9889 from around 1991.

The Buckle bag!! Hyacinth ID'd a green one I saw on ebay last year. And right before that, a green one on GWonline. At first I thought this was the navy one I had seen on eBay last week. I really thought about the navy one , but I already have the Bleeker tote in navy with the similiar shape. The navy one I came across on eBay and this one are the only ones I've come across in about a year.

thank you for authenticating the bag for me.

Please give me some tips to look for signs on how to tell why this coach is authentic. Thank you so much!

There are no one or two or three one-size-fits-all "rules", or tips, or signs, that can ever prove a Coach is genuine. That's explained on page 4 of the Salearea Guide on Authenticity Guides, posted in the Salearea Guides thread:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/salearea-guides.983575/page-2#post-32253008

"... Unlike what way too many of these Guides would have you believe, there are no one or two or even three magic details that can ever prove a Coach is genuine. Proving something's a fake is sometimes easy, but proving something's genuine requires knowledge of Coach's production codes and sometimes plant and style history, and often photos of or a known genuine version of the item being authenticated for comparison. No one can read a Guide and instantly become a Coach expert, there's real work and research involved just like with most things worth learning.

And I hope that clarifies why those "authenticity guides" are so dangerous - not just because their information is usually totally wrong, but because authenticating a bag invovles so much more than just looking at a zipper, or seeing if the numbers in the serial are lined up straight! There are dozens of different things to analyze and if someone isn't familiar with that exact bag or family and also with Coach's designs and production methods during the time period the bag was supposedly made, they can't make an educated authentication..."

Simply stated - a Coach is correct when all of its details are correct for the style, date and place of manufacture. I suggest reading the Salearea Guides in that thread for more information.

I noticed that the seller's description states:
"Restored- cleaned, re dyed, sealed, and conditioned to make as new as possible."

The products and methods used in restoring the bag almost certainly would have affected the appearance and feel of the leather.

Hi everyone, may I know if this one is legit?

Item: coach edie 31 floral
Listing: https://www.ebay.com/p/Coach-37700-...-Leather-Handbag/14014499574?iid=372288593745

Seller: shmtl04

I'm wondering because as I know, edie is a retail bag but this one has an F on the serial number which means it's an outlet bag. I thought edie's version for the outlet is lexy? Also, doesn't the new released coach have their serial number back on the creed again? But this one has the serial number on the white label. Does coach re-released this version of Edie into outlet bag? Please help. Thank you!

I picked this purse up from a secondhand site with the intention of cleaning it because I wanted to sharpen my purse cleaning skills. Is this authentic? It doesn’t have any numbers on the inside at all. But I read that some don’t have numbers, some of the outlet bags if I’m not mistaken? Any help would be greatly appreciated! These are photos from the girl who sold me it, not my own photos.*

Please request additional pictures of the inside showing the lining, another picture of the made-in tag that would be sewn in to the lining and if there's an inner zippered pocket, the seller should feel around (digging deep) inside the pocket (possibly turning it inside out) to see if there's another label with 2 rows of letters/numbers on it.

There's NO way we can authenticate it without at least a photo of the creed patch. Some smaller bags don't have numbers, and neither do almost all full-size bags made between 2014 and 2017, but there are still identifying tags that can be photographed.

Unless the seller includes a LARGE readable photo of the creed stamp inside the bag and better photos of the rest of the bag including the interior and the "Made in ..." tag and any tags inside the interior pockets, I would not recommend buying it. The details we need to see are listed in Post number One of this thread.

Personally I'm not familiar with any recent style that has just the Coach logo stamped on the outside like that, but newer styles aren't my specialty. Maybe someone else has seen a similar style.

AFAIK, 37700 is a MFF bag. The bag in the listing looks fine.

Lexy (and Lexi) seem to be completely different styles with different details than Edie. All 3 styles are MFF.
