Please authenticate this bag in my possession. It is 11 X 14 X 5.5. I'd also like to know the name and approx. date of it. It zips at the top and has two inner pockets. I've never seen one before. Is it rare? Thanks!

I don't know what to think. The buckles don't look like anything Coach used. I don't recall ever seeing that packet coming with a bag with a US creed. Out of curiosity, can you show what is in the bag? They should have some date codes on them.

The buckles remind me of Bleecker tattersall buckles.

Could you please authenticate this Coach bag? Have seen it described as "Limited Edition Scribble Poppy" on Poshmark. No description given in this listing on eBay.

Serial number is A05K-1855.

My concerns are the ways the C's are lined up as well as the printing on the creed patch (not evenly spaced). Plus, the serial number isn't in the format I'm familiar with (Fxxxxx).

Thanks in advance!

What's wrong with the way the Cs are lined up?

Please read the Salearea Guides on Creeds and on Serial Numbers recently posted in the Pinned thread at the top of this forum. If the only style number format you're familiar with is Fxxxxx, then everything you have with that format was made for the outlets in or after 2006. This Scribble Stitch Pocket Flap - NOT a Poppy! - was made in January 2005 and was a limited style. I own its exact twin although I changed the strap.

The style HAS been faked like most Scribble styles, usually with silver hardware and sometimes even with embroidery, but this one's perfectly genuine. The fabric looks a tiny bit yellowed but they tended to get that way unless they were kept out of the sun.

Thank you so much! Just after posting, I went and read about Coach serial numbers, so I'm much better educated now.

Regarding the C's, I thought they always were doubled on signature bags, but this must be one of the exceptions (horizontal/vertical/horizontal single C's here). Thanks again, much appreciated!

If that's some nonsense you found in some online "authenticity guide", I hope you'll ignore it like we advise everyone to do and like I state in every signature line included in all my posts.

By the so-called "rule", this one would be fake too.

And this

In fact I'm not sure what you mean by "doubled Cs", can you post an example?

Indeed, I did find it in an online authenticity guide, so I'll cross that one off the list.

I believe it meant the two C's together--as in the second image (two vertical, two horizontal, two vertical, etc).
And in fact, even that "rule" has exceptions.

This is an example of a 100% authentic bag where the front of the bag has perfectly centered and aligned pattern but for some reason (known only to Coach), they didn't match the pattern on the back of the bag. This is style 10483 and to people who believe what they read in many of those "authenticity guides," it could be incorrectly assumed to be fake.
EXAMPLES:
Front:

BACK:

More Rule Breakers - of course we can't forget the Signature Optics
40012_d1.jpg
1851_SOHO OPTIC SIG MEDIUM HOBO-d1.jpg

And the Scarf Prints
2165_d1.jpg

And the Optic Cs, suede and otherwise
3682_d1.jpg

And the Signature Shearling Duffles...
8k48_d1.jpg

And I won't even get into all the diagonal and off-center Sig C patterns that have appeared on MFF (Factory Outlet Store) items.

Forget about most "Rules", Coach breaks them at will. There are only a handful of rules you can take to the bank, like the "Coach never made handbags in Korea" rule. Most of the "rules" found in online guides are a bunch of baloney. There's an entire Salearea Guide devoted just to some of the common myths and mistakes found in most of the online Guides under "Authenticity Guides - Facts and Myth" I strongly recommend reading it.
