Please read Post number One in this thread if you want authentications. We need a full set of photos. Right now it just sounds like a guessing game and that's NOT what we do here. This isn't Sporcle or Jeopardy.

But just to hopefully eliminate any potential games, the Q plant wasn't opened in China until 2003. Q was never used for any US plant.
I apologize for being uninformed. I will read it. I've read on here for months. Joined today. I already own these three bags. The middle one became suspicious when I noticed the shape of the brass.1521695152457.jpg

Which is fake?
Thank you in advance for your time. I just discovered that one is probably fake.View attachment 4009977View attachment 4009978View attachment 4009979

The creed for the C4D bag looks correct. However, I agree with you that the buckle doesn't seem to be the correct shape. I'd like to see other details of that bag, including the entire inside pocket, the rivets in the leather at the buckle ends, and the zipper pull. Are there any markings on the buckle? Are both buckles the same?

ETA: I'd like to see the same details on the bag with the Q creed.

It's the C4D. Top right in this photo. It's comparable in quality to the others. Thank you for your response.

Whoa, hold on a minute. Why do you think every Coach bag ever made had the same buckles and hardware? There's a very important fact that we keep bringing up over and over again - YOU CAN ONLY COMPARE DETAILS ON BAGS OF THE SAME STYLE AND WITH THE SAME STYLE NUMBER AND MADE IN THE SAME PLANT, MONTH AND YEAR. You're looking at 2 style 9953s made 3 years apart and expecting them to be identical.

And the probably fake bag doesn't even seem to have the same style number as the others, it looks to me like the last number is an 8 unless the lighting is playing tricks, which is always possible. Or it has a ding or vein in the leather in exactly the wrong place.

Do what the Rules in the first post say. Post photos of the important details of each bag separately. Don't mix pictures of 2 styles in one post, it gets confusing. If I had to base an opinion just on a creed and serial number photo I'd say the first 2 are probably genuine, but there's no way to be sure without photos.

NOTHING can be authenticated just from a creed photo or a serial number. That's something else we keep emphasizing. That's why a full set pf phots is so important.

No rush to do it tonight, BTW. Whateve will probably be up for a while but I'm going to sleep.

Thanks for responding. The buckles are the same. No writing on either.1521702250187.jpg1521702323273.jpg1521702381269.jpg1521702425970.jpg

Thanks for asking. I purchased what I thought may be a fake for the cross body strap. It has the same flat buckles. That's how this started.

Every thing about this bag looks good. It is authentic. I have to admit I don't recall ever seeing buckles like that, but upon looking I found another just like yours. https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Vint...981320?hash=item2aa280dfc8:g:r-oAAOSwXEdaeOA7 These must have been just used for a short time for this style in the D plant in 1994. I wonder if I've come across them before and just didn't notice.

ETA: Here's another, made in 1995. https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-HELE...219282?hash=item25f02c3652:g:ImYAAOSwuLZY5~4g It must be more prevalent than I thought.

I originally thought it was a replacement strap.

Q = fake?
Q is a valid plant code for China starting in 2003. It wasn't in operation in 2001, and it wasn't ever used for the US. Many fakes have straps with silver grommets on bags with brass hardware. Yes, straps can be replaced but since we see it so often on fakes, it is significant. If that were the only thing wrong with the bag, we would still say it was authentic with a replacement strap. However, both the creed and the 'solid brass' stamped on the buckles further prove the bag is counterfeit. Additionally the inside pocket appears to be quite a bit smaller than the pocket of your authentic bag.

Wow that was quick. I mentioned I have a fake with the flat buckle. That's how this started. Btw. I knew it was. I just wanted the strap.1521704659874.jpg
