Thank you, Whateve! She didn’t say specifically, just “There are several discrepancies that indicate other than authentic.”

I referred her here, but she is not satisfied. These are her concerns:

“Specifically, i’m concerned with the inconsistent coloring of the bag (although disclosed), the coach creed is both crooked and inconsistent in its application and appearance, the stitching on the bag is not the standard deep set stitch pattern of Coach bags and the leather is not as supple as the leather on an authentic Coach. I’m sorry but I do not believe the bag is an authentic item.”

Ask her if she has ever had a NYC era Coach bag. Tell her this bag was made in the 70s or 80s so it is at least 30 years old. The leather on an older vintage bag is often not as supple as a 90s or later bag. The stitching looks exactly as it should for a NYC era bag. It is common for the creed to be crooked and inconsistent in application because they were hand stamped. The number was stamped separately from the creed wording, and it is common to be at a different angle than the body of the creed. I would be more concerned if the creed and number were perfectly even as that would suggest that it wasn't hand stamped.

Thank you, Whateve. I am familiar with all of these points you made, but it’s nice to have it coming from an authenticator to back me up. I appreciate your help :)

She still claims fake. Sigh... I think it’s just buyers remorse.

I'll be happy to back up Whateve's comments, the bag is completely genuine.

People who don't have a clue about what vintage Coach bags are all about shouldn't be buying them. Accept a return and sell it to someone who will actually appreciate it and who's willing to invest a little time and effort to bring it back to almost-new condition.

Thank you, Hyacinth, for backing up the authenticity of the bag.

Hello everyone ! My aunt passed down one of her handbags to me and would like some help in authenticating it. She does not remember when and where she bought it but says it is 'The Real Deal'. All I was able to figure out is that it's a Coach Willis but don't know when and where it was made or if it's vintage. It has a Coach stamp on the inside, quite a few scuff marks and few spots of discolouration on the back. I have attached some pictures for your help and would love to know for sure if I have my first Coach bag

Thank you everyone

It's an authentic Willis, made in the United States in 1999. In one year it will be officially vintage. It says it was made in the US right on the creed.

We have a rehab club if you would like to know how to restore it: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club.833400/
