Hello authenticators. I am looking for a suitable subject for my first rehab project. Is this old bag authentic Coach?

Comments: Made in Italy? Is that an "A" in the date code (letter looks a bit rounded on top). Thank you!
Please wait for one of the other authenticators to confirm authenticity, but I'd like to comment on the rehab potential of the bag. It is nubuc and you may find it very difficult to get it clean.

Thank you, Catbird. I was hoping the bag was glove tanned leather, but the creed was hard to read.

It's a genuine Sonoma Flap Nubuc, but as Catbird9 said, cleaning it is probably going to be a frustrating experience. If you're already familiar with the Rehab And Rescue thread, that's the place to start.

Agree with @Hyacinth and @Catbird9 . I tried to rehab a Sonoma nubuc, but was only able to get some surface dirt off. I ended up giving it to a friend who didn' mind it being beat up.

Hi again

I’ve bid on this but pics seem to show either brass or nickel hardware depending on the photo, and I’m not familiar enough with the creed codes to know whether or not M is a valid US manufactured bag...

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Authentic-vi...ther-day-backpack-9960-turnlock-/282829277970

It's authentic. I wonder if it is really purple, not navy. They made a purple with nickel hardware around that time. I think navy was made with brass hardware.

The color name was "Ink" which was a navy-ish purple or a purple-ish navy, take your pick. It had nickel hardware.

I am beginning to think my coaches were fake. I am very afraid to check on the tag when I got home later...
The usual "cheaper" "tax free" "duty free" "From coach outlet" often left me confused. I searched high and low to check the differences between a fake and authentic coach but to no avail.

I am keen on buying a Coach Mini Charlie Backpack recently. I dont have most of the pictures but from the white tag, it seems pretty off to me already. It is as if the seller doesnt want to take the picture clearly. Can anyone advise ?

Aha, an even more interesting find then! I did ask the seller as I was sure the navy only had brass hardware so seeing it with nickel surprised me. The M is a valid US plant code then?
