Count me as another who has never seen that type of mistake.

I thought of the possibility that perhaps the prefix was supposed to be B6B instead of 6B6 but if that were the case, we should (probably) have been able to find other 6B6 creeds.

Instead, I found a B6B creed that also matches in font and text.

It was probably a pretty rare mistake, especially for a US plant where they should have been able to "read the memo". Even the creed stamping details look identical.

Welcome to tPF!

Please check Post number One in this thread for a list of the details that should be included with Coach authentication requests. Measurements are a big help when analyzing classic and vintage styles. If it measures roughly 9x9 inches it's a Lindsay Bag from the early 1990s, style number 9888, and it's genuine. Here's Coach's catalog listing from early 1993:

Welcome to tPF!
The top one is genuine but the dustbag is fake.

The second one is also genuine but the seller VFLTERRY has sold fakes before, see this discussion and the posts that follow it:

Hi! Thank you for your help.. I didn't realise the measurements on eBay weren't there. I'll pm the seller next time for details.

Exactly. The correct format for serial numbers from 1994 to around 2005 (after 2005 things get even more complicated) should be LETTER (month code) - NUMBER (year code, 1 or 2 numbers) - LETTER or rarely a NUMBER depending on the plant (plant code). The B plant in 1996 would have a serial prefix in the format Letter-Number-Letter IF it was set correctly, but we've seen other plants made similar mistakes during that transition period, especially several non-USA plants. None of us have seen this exact kind of formatting mistake before.

Creeds and serial numbers are covered in two of the Salearea Coach Guides.

Yes I hadn't noticed it when I got it till I read more on the guides you mentioned. The bag seemed correct and since there had been mistakes by plants before I thought that might be it. I did re-size more pics. I hope this works.back.jpg

Hello again, ladies! I would appreciate a once over from your expert eyes when you get a chance. Thank you.

Item: COACH Brown leather Slim Duffel shoulder bag purse EUC 9328

Listing number: 332504791205

Seller: lorelei6965

Link: https://www.ebay.com/usr/lorelei6965

Comments: The seller states that the shoulder strap has been "professionally shortened".

In the future, please be sure to post the actual link or URL from the auction listing - in this case:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Brow...791205?hash=item4d6ad478a5:g:KNEAAOSwz~paSWb5

I don't understand why the owner even bothered to cut down the strap. On those Duffle styles it was a simple thing to just double up the strap and that would give approximately the same strap length as it has now. That's how the strap was designed and why those styles have those unusual buckles. The shortened strap decreases the utility and value of the bag. But if that works for the owner, that's fine.

It's genuine, made in 2005.

Please update. I hope the buyer offers an apology.

Hi BeenBurned - I sent the buyer a link to this forum and your post, as well as posted screen captures in the eBay records, and waited for over 24 hours - no response. So I sent a follow up message asking her to please cancel the return request with instructions on how to do it. She closed the return request this morning but she never messaged me at all.

Thanks again for your help!! This forum is such an amazing resource.

You're better of just accepting the return and be done with it.

The problem you might encounter should you refuse the return is that ebay may assume you don't want the item bag and tell her to keep it but give her the refund (from your account) anyway.

In this case it worked out perfectly. Maybe the buyer was too embarrassed to respond, but closing the return speaks for itself.

Item: Western Embroidery Rogue

Listing #: 362200778705

Seller: aperfectool

Link: https://m.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Coach-19...oral-Embroidery-Black-57230-995-/362200778705

I've bought a fake one from eBay before so I'm cautious but also have learned what to look for. I do question about the price tag as it doesn't look like the usual single price tag but a tag placed on an oversize tag. And the abbreviation for Western looks to be WTM...instead of WTN? It's been awhile since I've seen one in the store to remember how It should be labeled/abbreviated.
