Exactly. The correct format for serial numbers from 1994 to around 2005 (after 2005 things get even more complicated) should be LETTER (month code) - NUMBER (year code, 1 or 2 numbers) - LETTER or rarely a NUMBER depending on the plant (plant code). The B plant in 1996 would have a serial prefix in the format Letter-Number-Letter IF it was set correctly, but we've seen other plants made similar mistakes during that transition period, especially several non-USA plants. None of us have seen this exact kind of formatting mistake before.

Creeds and serial numbers are covered in two of the Salearea Coach Guides.

Yes I hadn't noticed it when I got it till I read more on the guides you mentioned. The bag seemed correct and since there had been mistakes by plants before I thought that might be it. I did re-size more pics. I hope this works.View attachment 3926106[/QUOTE]
The pics are too small now, at least for me. How small did you make them? And what size were the original photos?

There shouldn't be any problem with pictures of a reasonable size, say 800x600 or a bit larger. I've posted pics up to around 1200 pixels wide with no problems. And the photo posting forum software, at least with my computer and any of the major browsers, allows you to select posting overly large photos as thumbnails.

Hi I did add more pics sized better, has anyone come up with any more ideas on the 6B6 number?

Hi ladies,

Just a quick question about Coach Willis colors. With the 90’s bags (the Browns) bedsides British Tan and Mahogany what was the proper name for the third? I am trying to locate a strap for one and think the color was Mocha? Thanks.

We already commented on it. I'm not sure what else there is to say.

Please post a photo of the bag in both natural and artificial light and a clear photo of the serial number showing the codes including the year code.

I don't think Mocha was ever a Willis color.

We've never seen an error like this, and it seems unlikely that it would occur in a US plant, plus we've never seen another one. Usually if there is an error, there are multiple bags with the same error. On the plus side, the creed looks exactly like an authentic one other than the error, and I don't see any style problems, but with a simple style, it is hard to find something that could be screwed up. I think you would have trouble if you ever tried to sell it.

Hi, I think this bag, given to me by a co-worker, is fake. It looks like a Taft but there's a mistake in the style number.
The measurements are 9.5" x 12.5" and it's about 3.75" deep. The strap drop is about 18" adjustable to about 20. There is some sloppy stitching. Please confirm. TIA.

Comments: This is my first time trying to buy a pre-owned handbag so it has made me quite worry of making a mistake.
The bag is authentic but personally, I don't recommend Poshmark for several reasons.
1. They don't (EVER) respond to and remove reports of fakes and as such, the implication is that they don't care about legality or protecting their buyers.
2. They don't recognize what's authentic and what's fake so in cases of disputes, they've deemed fakes as authentic and authentic items as fake.
3. While allowing the sale of fakes, the admin at PM block members whose comments they don't like and make it look like it was the sellers who did the blocking.

I guess as long as you get the item pictured and deemed as authentic, you'll be okay but heaven help you if you get a fake or if a seller steals authentic pictures and ships a fake. Poshmark will NOT have your back.

Hi Hyacinth, thank you again!! ... sorry I did realise I hadn't put the measurements after I posted them on.... I'm still getting hang of the forum.. I was sure there was a "edit post " somewhere?!
there is an edit post, but it expires in something like 15 minutes. Just quote your post, and add the measurements. Also on the first one, are there loops on the sides to attach a strap?
