Thanks whateve! I appreciate your expertise and time. I'm still on my quest to find a vintage courier bag. I keep getting outbid or someone buys the bag while I'm waiting for pictures of the creed or authentication.
I made an offer on the Blue courier bag and the seller accepted it. I'm finally owner of a vintage courier bag. :yahoo:

It seems ok although those tiny purse key fobs can be hard to authenticate because the details are so easy to fake and there aren't any creeds or serial numbers. It's probably a style 7254 Mini Station Bag Key Fob from around 1997.
I haven't seen a fake with the correct female turnlock hardware.

All of them are probably ok but as BeenBurned pointed out, the back of the female part of the turnlock is important for authentication.

And the fact that your seller had another listing for a fake shows that she isn't as expert as she thought.

Though there's nothing wrong with not knowing how to ID fakes, there is a problem with not having a willingness to learn!

Rant over!
Just my opinion, I do not consider this a rant. There are just too many sellers out selling high volumes of Coach bags who are unwilling to entertain the idea that they or their *authenticator friends* are wrong. Or they won’t post clear pics of the creed so they can’t be scrutinized. And you authenticators here are the only advocates preventing these fakes from being purchased! My rant over!

So, a couple of months ago I had my Coach Briefcase from the Sheridan collection authenticated here. I emailed Coach today to request the hang tag, and got a reply "this is not a Coach product". I have one of those that were made in US and do not have serial numbers. I am pretty sure that's how they decided it's not Coach, because all I sent was a close up of a creed, and a picture of the bag for an overall idea, but that did not show any details. Any idea what to do?

We've said it over and over and OVER - the absolute WORST place anyone can turn to for authentication is Coach and their employees! I hope this helps prove our point. See the Salearea Guide on Authenticity Guide Facts and Myths for more details.

As for what you can do - not a darned thing, except contact Coach and give them the serial number from a RECENT bag with brass hardware that someone who doesn't have their head up their backside might actually recognise as a Coach product, preferably from the last 10 years. Because if you're hoping that you can convince anyone at Coach that your briefcase is actually a Coach product you're wasting your time.

Speaking of which, I think these are the posts you're referring to:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/page-1556#post-31451091

You finally posted photos of the briefcase a month later and it was authenticated. I agree that it's genuine:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/page-1593#post-31535342

So other than finding another way to get a hangtag, which is just going to be brass and not be the same as the original, there's nothing you CAN do. Just accept it when we say from years of experience what I said in the first paragraph of my reply.

BTW, here's a photo of the Sumter from Coach's 1992 Fall Special Edition catalog. If you have the name of the self-appointed "expert" that you contacted at Coach you might want to send it to them. If it was just one of the regular Customer Service phone-bots, you're not going to get any satisfaction there either.

We discussed this problem recently in the Rehab club. My recommendation was to give the serial number from a related Sheridan that does have a style number in the creed. The discussion starts on page 1030: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club.833400/page-1030

Yeah, that's what got me excited - someone actually got a tag that looked right for a Sheridan bag. I specifically wanted that kind, not a regular brass one, so that's why I send them the bag picture, hoping that'd help. They aren't able to tell the color from the serial numbers, are they?

No, but nearly all Sheridans had brown tags. The only exception would be black with black trim. Maybe you could just specify British tan.
