It's probably OK but the creed photo isn't large or readable enough to be sure, we usually need to be able to read the stamping.. But the other details are right, and silver hardware was just beginning to be used on a few bags and briefcases by the end of the 1990s so that's not a problem.

Thank you! I asked the seller for a close up!

Savers is my favorite thrift store. In my area, they've been opening new ones. I hope they don't start closing!
When I first starting thrifting a few years ago, I loved Savers. Now the Savers where I shop have raised their prices so much that it is really hard to find a good bargain. On my last trip, I only found one Coach at a decent price and that was because they probably thought it was fake.

Sounds like some of you gals have great options for used / discount shopping. At Good Will Stores around Lansing MI, I have never even seen a Coach & I've never heard of Savers. I have found (Only a couple) at yard sales. At consignment shops, they are often over priced when compared to what you can find on eBay. Also, consignment shops around here have no problem selling fakes as I've seen many obvious wanna be Coach bags there.

Another idea for replacement straps is one I stumbled on the other day while shopping at TJ Maxx.

There were some Patricia Nash straps and the British tan on the ends above the clips matched perfectly with my court bag. What I loved about the strap (but didn't buy) is that it's adjustable and it's about 2" wide as compared with .75" original Court bag strap. I found it much more comfortable for a crossbody strap than the thinner one.

This is a Macy's ad. It was $14.99 at TJ Maxx:

Just wondering - do the Dooney AWL bag straps match the Coach Sheridans and Dakotas? Have you ever tried one with the other? The Dakota straps are a slightly different shade so even trying to replace a Dakota strap with a Sheridan strap can be tricky, but it's always nice to have other options. The Coach bags use 3 or 4 different types of strap mounting too which makes them even trickier.

Like others have said, sometimes you get lucky with other brands too. I'd never even heard of Sorial but found a gorgeous leather bag on Ebay with 2 straps including a very long crossbody in a great purple shade (and a great price too, only $40). Then I took a chance and picked up a Coach Garcia Legacy Leather Pocket Flap 12654 in Amethyst that only came with a short strap The long strap from the Sorial bag turned out to be an almost perfect match, color and hardware, for the Coach leather. Had to take off the short strap on the Coach but it was worth it since I only use crossbody bags. This is the drilldown pic of the one I modified, and I still have and use both bags:

Still one of my all-time favorite Coach leathers and colors.

Dooney straps might work (utilitarian-wise) but I'm not sure how the colors would match. (I've never seen them together to compare colors.)

Hello! I have a vintage back that is throwing me for a loop. The details all look good, but when I try to search the factory and date code I get nothing. Is it true that the first letter is supposed to be a month of the year? If so the serial is *definitely* wrong. Thanks so much!

9.75" width, 10.5" height, 3" depth, 19" max drop length.

The reason why you can't "validate" the date and factory is because the bag is fake. T is never a valid month code and E is code for a bag made in Italy. You may not have noticed that the hardware is also mismatched; the buckle is gold/brass and the grommets on the strap are silver.

Thank you! I had a suspicion but that is what I wanted to clarify. I had seen some places in my research mention the first letter being a month code, and others state that the two letters combined were the factory code. And yes the grommets were odd. There are brass and silver grommets and they looked like they could have been the result of a bad repair attempt. Thank you again!

If you wouldn't mind looking at another bag... I know smaller bags and accessories don't have creed patches but don't know much about their accessories, so I would love another set of eyes on this. Thanks in advance for your help!
