@whateve there is an online seller who states his "authenticator friends" assure him that , and I am not sure what part of the creed patch he means, something raised on 'made in the United States' creeds indicate it is an NYC bag. I will PM you the link.
Is it the same seller you referred to in the following post (from April 7)?

@Hyacinth I do have a question that ties in with the two bags just authenticated. Several sellers indicate when the creed stamp says made in the United States and the printing of the Coach at the top of the creed is raised as opposed to depressed, that it indicates a bag was made in the New York City plant, as opposed to other plants they used in the late 80's or early 90's. Of course, they use it as a marketing point that the bag is a New York City. Any truth?
Btw, if you haven't heard, the made in NYC bags are disappearing at an alarming rate, according to one online seller. Just wanted to keep everyone here in the loop. LOL

When you made that post, I hunted around to find who would spew such nonsense. And I found that ProVintageGear
on Etsy says it in nearly every listing!

Is that the same seller whose "authenticator friends" where the bag was made based on the creed imprints?

I happened to open one of the listings and although his descriptions are very hard to read, this was one of the FAKE items that PROVINTAGEGEAR sold:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/386989534/coach-classic-shoulder-bag-british-tan

From the wordy description:
This particular bag was made in 1996. It has N6G-9170 stamped on the creed which also states it was made in the United States.

Maybe he forgot to run that one by his authenticator friends.
Either that or he needs to find new authenticator friends who know what they're talking about.

Here's the listing which, although authentic has the nonsense quote stating "This bag has the Coach Leatherware Logo with the raised letters which my Coach authenticator friends have advised me means this bag was made in the New York City factory after Coach opened other factories outside of New York City."

The cartouche on that bag doesn't have raised letters.

Ugh! PROVINTAGEGEAR needs to get a new authenticator.

This is another current "mother's day" bag with creed photo below:

The B plant which I think was Miami also had the same details on the creed stamp. I'd have to find a large sampling of bags where their exact date of manufacture could be proven but as far as I can see, ALL bags from ALL plants made earlier than 1992 have the raised Coach name on the creed, and that of course would include all the 3+4 serial number bags. The earliest recessed-name examples in my files are from 1992 and newer.

Same subject, new post - SacsMagniques Ebay Guide has 2 pics referring to that period and says
The Bags began to read "Made in the United States (USA in the Lightweight Collection). Individual Serial/registration numbers in XXX-XXXX format. The Cartouche on some of these early bags shows that they were still being made in the original NYCFactory...or at least with the original Creed press.

Still read "Made in the United States (USA in the Lightweight Collection) with individual Serial/registration numbers, but format changes to XXXX-XXX. The Cartouche is concave.

The second line mentioning the concave cartouche is only refering to bags with 4+3 serial number formats (which were introduced in 1990) meaning that they were made in or after 1990 but those 2 details didn't come together until 1992 from what my photo files show. As always with Coach there might be a few exceptions, but so far 14 out of the 14 photos I have of Made in the United States/U.S.A.creeds and 3+4 serial numbers ALL have raised letters in the Coach logo. The ONLY example with recessed letters I've seen so far is in that seller's listing, which could even be a 1991 or 1992 example that still had the old serial number format or more likely, had an incorrectly formatted serial number - the plant that used the "Made In U.S.A" was the same one that popped out dozens if not hundreds of bags with an 8-digit serial number and no hyphen before they figured out their mistake).

There's NOTHING in SM's Ebay guide that says only NYC creeds with 3+4 formats would have had raised Coach logos.

Seller ProVintageGear
Etsy listing Abbie bag
https://www.etsy.com/listing/499925591/sale-mothers-day-coach-abbie-zip?ref=related-3

Comments: Serial font looks wrong, border around serial number, made in US text yet AFAIK, Z is a plant code for Dominican Republic.

And another fake.

Too bad we don't keep lists of untrusted sellers or PROVINTAGEGEAR would be right up there with the pack leaders.

NOT RECOMMENDED, at least by me!

I can't tell if the letters are raised in this picture. They don't look like it to me. It is a Lightweight.

According to his bio, the owner of PROVINTAGEGEAR is a practicing attorney. I doubt the Michigan Bar looks kindly on the sales of fake merchandise. He should know better, especially because he was advised earlier in this thread that he was selling fakes and needed to have his bags authenticated.
