Ugh! PROVINTAGEGEAR needs to get a new authenticator.

This is another current "mother's day" bag with creed photo below:

Just. Wow. He doesn't even need an authenticator friend to have a clue that is fake! ( Provintagegear: please note you would benefit from new authenticator friends. Just sayin.) That information is available from spending 8 minutes from reading a credible guide supported by extensive experience. I deal with attorneys in my line of work regularly, by the way and they tend to pride themselves on research, facts, credibility, standard practices, due diligence, etc. l Even the radar of a newbie like me can question that creative sequence of numbers. Sheesh. You ladies have made it clear even a reputable seller can be fooled by a fake on occasion and as long as the listing is promptly removed or a refund promptly given, the seller has acted responsibly. But to voice concerns about reputation like he recently did and have this listed??

And interestingly enough, Provintagegear is all about listing the vintage qualities and details of his bags. Yet curiously he seems to omit the fact this bag this bag was manufactured in 2005. An 2005 would make it not vintage gear. I am curious if that catalog page is from 2005 as well. To post an earlier catalog page is intentionally misleading.

According to his bio, the owner of PROVINTAGEGEAR is a practicing attorney. I doubt the Michigan Bar looks kindly on the sales of fake merchandise. He should know better, especially because he was advised earlier in this thread that he was selling fakes and needed to have his bags authenticated.

The fakes I posted are very obvious and a seller with nearly 500 listings should be experienced enough to recognize (or at least research) such obvious fakes. It makes me wonder how many others of nearly 500 listings aren't authentic and how many of those 759 sales were fakes.

Although that bag is authentic, at just 12 years old, it's not "vintage" (nor is it handmade) so I wonder how it fits in with Etsy's TOS that items be vintage or hand made.

There are some beautiful and truly vintage bags among ProVintageGear's listings but there is nonsense BS about Coach as well as fakes (knowingly or not) mixed in.

The B plant did use 2 different stamps simultaneously. (I think there are a couple of other posts with similar comments but this is the most recent)

Gorgeous find! It is normal for the metal edges of the feet to show on the inside.

The seller mentions in the listing that the catalog page is for a Faith's Legacy and not a Janice's. But then why show the page at all??? And he never mentions either the year of the catalog OR of the bag. "Intentionally misleading" is being much too kind.
