Picked this butterfly up the other day pretty cheap. I'm fairly certain it's authentic, but would like ya'lls opinion on it. The little hang tag doesn't have the 'made in' stamp on the back of it. The butterfly has Coach stamped on the back and it looks good, but I couldn't get a good photo of it. It isn't solid brass, it's not heavy enough. Any opinions?IMG_4070.JPGIMG_4072.JPGIMG_4071.JPGIMG_4074.JPG

I wonder who bought that! I was seriously considering it and then it was gone. I've never seen it before but my feeling was that it appeared authentic. I was also thinking that it could have been a purse charm that was turned into a keychain.

Thank you!
I accidently stumbled onto it while doing a search for something else. I was surprised to see several people watching it and that it hadn't sold yet. I looked it over with a magnifying glass today and I think it was made like that. The key ring, the hang tag, the chain and the butterfly are all the same metal.....looks like brass plate with a clear coating on it. It's like a couple of other fobs I have. But either way, I like it.

Item Name: Coach Beekman Messenger Bag/Briefcase
Link :https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/491421514/vintage-coach-beekman-messenger-black?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=coach beekman&ref=sr_gallery_4

serial: M9C-5266.

I've seen a lot of these in the brass hardware, only a few in the nickel. I hope this doesn't mean this is a fake, I LOVE the nickel on black.

It's probably OK but the creed photo isn't large or readable enough to be sure, we usually need to be able to read the stamping.. But the other details are right, and silver hardware was just beginning to be used on a few bags and briefcases by the end of the 1990s so that's not a problem.

Another nice one! This is an authentic Sheridan Charlotte satchel 4215 from around 1992. It is missing the long strap.

Yes I know. I don't think I could find replacementstrap for this. [emoji17]

Surprisingly, once I bought a Sheridan that was missing the strap. I found a Timberland purse listed on ebay for cheap and the strap was nearly a perfect match. If you have another Sheridan with a removable strap, they can share.
Another idea for replacement straps is one I stumbled on the other day while shopping at TJ Maxx.

There were some Patricia Nash straps and the British tan on the ends above the clips matched perfectly with my court bag. What I loved about the strap (but didn't buy) is that it's adjustable and it's about 2" wide as compared with .75" original Court bag strap. I found it much more comfortable for a crossbody strap than the thinner one.

This is a Macy's ad. It was $14.99 at TJ Maxx:

The article I read said they're closing <4% of stores, many located in Midwest markets that aren't performing well. Chicago closed 4, I think. I'm in mourning since 3 of my best bag sources just disappeared. [emoji20]
Savers is my favorite thrift store. In my area, they've been opening new ones. I hope they don't start closing!
