Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

Thank you and be safe!

*sigh* After I posted, I went through completed listings to see if I could find the bag you bought and suspected that it might have been seller: kyyjamie

Had you come here prior to buying, you would have been advised against purchasing from a seller who steals Coach's copyrighted stock images. Particularly for highly faked items, it's important that sellers show their own pictures of the actual item that the buyer will receive. With the use of stock photos, there's no way to know what you'll receive.

Additionally, please tell me that kyyjamie didn't convince you to take the transaction off ebay and pay directly through Paypal! In fact, both the bag you bought as well as another of her listing for a different tea rose bag were ended early, scamming ebay out of fees and possibly costing you some buyer protection.

Yes she did  So am I screwed then? Can I file a claim through paypal?

You can file a claim through a Paypal but it is easier to get your money back through ebay. Sometimes Paypal will ask for a professional authentication, and usually they won't require the seller to pay for you to ship it back, while on ebay you would get a return shipping label. Any seller who wants to cheat ebay out of their fees has no qualms about cheating their buyers. Keep that in mind next time.

If you paid with a credit card, you are doubly protected. If you don't get a refund through Paypal, you can open a claim with your credit card company, but don't do both at once. Wait until the Paypal claim is resolved before you go that route.
@whateve, although ebay would have been the venue of choice through which to file a dispute, the seller ended the listing early, thus leading to my question to Cytheria about whether they'd taken the transaction off ebay and directly through PP. She doesn't have the option of disputing in ebay.

@Cytheria, although I'm not optimistic, I'll suggest that before opening a dispute through Paypal, you try to get the seller to accept the return and refund voluntarily. If she balks, you can open a paypal dispute.

And if anyone else is shopping on ebay, I recommend avoiding seller kyyjamie.

BB - I've posted a few comments and pics on the general subject of the new serial numbers over at the Answers to Authenticity Questions thread, but please carry on with the questions about this listing in particular. Post 1591.

There are so many red flags in the listing in question from kyyjamie as well as her other listings, none of which show pictures of the actual items.

I advise the buyer to return the bag for a refund and avoid doing business with sellers who cheat ebay by taking transactions off-site. And in the future, this should be a lesson to buyers to buy on the site they find items because in taking it off-site, the buyer lost her ebay protection.

Hi...Can anyone verify authenticity?

    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller:
    Link:
    Comments:

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

Looks like ebay pulled all listings and only left one. I would not buy from nicguinta ever. Buyer beware.

Normally we need more pictures in order to authenticate, but I can tell you that creed is not valid.

Thank you! Here are more pictures to be sure.
Sorry...cannot seem to upload pictures. They are same size as first one I attached but I'm getting error code that it's too big[/QUOTE]

We don't need any more pictures in this case - the creed and serial number are both fake and invalid. The fonts don't match the date and plant codes and the creed itself doesn't fit the date codes either. it's fake. The entire creed stamping is wrong and was never used by Coach in that format.

I'm sure there would be other problems with the bag itself but like Whateve already said, in this case that one photo is all we need to see. If you just bought it recently, get your money back. When and where did you buy it? We ask for links to the selling site and the seller's name but none of that information is included in your posts.

I contacted her to try and get a refund and she told me she bought it from the Coach store herself and is a former employee and used her discount and left the purse in the wrapping so it wouldn't get messed up. She said the missing r is a defect and not her problem and I should take the purse up to a Coach store myself to get it exchanged. She attached this receipt.

Hi, Although I'm not an authenticator, in my opinion, any honest seller who values their customers as well as their own reputation would accept a return for any reason. Actually the missing "r" is her problem because she sold the item, making everything about it her problem. Passing the buck is unacceptable. She should be reported to eBay even though by purchasing outside of eBay, you are not covered for this transaction. BTW, a receipt does not prove the item is genuine. She could have purchased a genuine bag and kept the receipt to copy as "proof" that her fakes are the real thing. Sorry this happened, action is needed to remove dishonest, uncaring sellers from eBay.
