Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.

We don't need any more pictures in this case - the creed and serial number are both fake and invalid. The fonts don't match the date and plant codes and the creed itself doesn't fit the date codes either. it's fake. The entire creed stamping is wrong and was never used by Coach in that format.

I'm sure there would be other problems with the bag itself but like Whateve already said, in this case that one photo is all we need to see. If you just bought it recently, get your money back. When and where did you buy it? We ask for links to the selling site and the seller's name but none of that information is included in your posts.[/QUOTE]
Thank you to both of you! It was purchased a while ago by my mom and she has since passed. I appreciate the help. I have 2 more that I would greatly appreciate authentication on. I think they are both also fake but just want to make sure

I think it's genuine. We've seen several other Costa Rica bags from the same late 1997 time period with incorrect creed wording.

So that M plant stamp got around lol. I asked for authentication for my Saddle bag earlier., being an M plant in the US. It must have needed a vacation by the end of that year ; ) A few weeks ago I searched through posts and learned the M stamp got around, so it gave me pause to hope my bag was legit. Trust me , when I bought that bag way back when, I figured if it was alpha numeric alpha and the correct style number, it was good :amazed:. Little did I know then. So glad I can get real info and opinions before I buy now.

Main Coach master photo folder - 539 subfolders with 66,500 individual files of entire bags and smaller details

Of 3 folders dedicated mostly to creeds - approximately 4,000, plus another 500-1000 creed photos in other folders

and those are mainly styles from the 1980s to about 2005. BeenBurned probably has at least 4 times that many.

The M code and a few others were either full-time or part-time "floaters", they went wherever they were needed and for as long as they were needed. That's one reason why there will never be a "master list" of details like plant codes, they could change literally overnight.

Years ago when I had a windows computer, I knew exactly how many folders and pictures I had. On my Mac, while they're all there, they aren't arranged as orderly and I don't know how to categorize them as I used to.

But I know there are over 100K images.
