Purchased this bag recently, seeking advice on the authenticity, My pictures uploaded were not on the seller's listing, creed and close up pics. Contacted the seller concerning some missing stitchs on the long strap, they did not see anything wrong with the stitching, they offered a return and I am still deciding. Thanks for your help.

Thank you! I was not 100% sure, when I saw this did not have rivets. It must have been made before they started putting rivets at the end of the double straps on this style.
I didn't even notice that! Every Madison satchel I've ever seen had rivets. They had rivets when the style was released and yours isn't one of the earlier ones. I think they just forgot to put them on.

Are you talking about rivets on the handles? I have two Broadway satchels and neither one has rivets in the handles.
That's why it didn't look odd to me. According to the catalog pictures, Broadway satchels aren't supposed to have rivets; Madison satchels are.

Thanks for the clarification! I am learning so much from all the experts on this forum. I am in awe of you wealth of knowledge.

I agree with most of what usMichigann posted. I do think she's an employee though. Although I don't have first hand knowledge of what an employee's purchase receipt looks like, the "employee file copy" and apparent (redacted) discount on a boutique purchase does seem to indicate that she's telling the truth or that she had a friend who's an employee buy it for her. But she doesn't show the date of purchase and the lack of date on that receipt can also indicate that it might have been purchased more recently than she's admitting. (Not accusing her of running to the store after the sale but it's possible that it was done after the questions were raised.)

If you go back and look at both my posts as well as Hyacinth's post about this item, neither of us said the bag is fake but neither was able to confirm authenticity either. And that's a problem when buying or selling an item that either has a mistake or is so unusual and/or rare that comparisons can't be made to known identical authentic items.

As such, I usually recommend against making purchases that can't be proven authentic. You don't want to spend money on an item that you don't feel comfortable about and even worse, should you ever tire of the bag, you can't resell it because as a seller, you have to be able to prove authenticity and so far, that can't be done.

The seller, kyyjamie has more than one problem and if she wants to help her reputation, she needs to learn from this experience.
  • Honest sellers don't take advantage of the exposure a selling site gives then encourage buyers to take the transaction off-site.
  • Good sellers (especially of highly faked items/brands) don't use other sellers' or companies' copyrighted photos. They show their own pictures of the actual items that buyers will receive so both the seller can prove possession of the item and the buyer knows what she'll receive.
If kyyjamie came here asking for advice, this is what I'd tell her. Employee or not, authentic bag or not, RETURN it! But if kyyjamie is indeed an employee, she shouldn't tell them that she tried to resell it on ebay! She'll lose her job. A bag with such an obvious mistake that can't be authetnicated isn't something she should be selling.

And kyyjamie, end that current listing for the Air Jordans and relist with your own pictures!
Thanks I put a claim on paypal since she keeps denying a return and even admits there could be a defect since she didn't even look at the bag. It's weird she keeps telling me to exchange it myself and she won't refund and doesn't actually have the receipt with her. She said her friend works at Coach and has the receipt which is really weird to me. So hopefully paypal will let me return and make her refund my money. If not I am screwed and learned my lesson lol. I will come here before buying anything from now on but I think I will just stick to buying from the actual Coach store from now on... thanks for all your help!

I would focus on the missing letter in the creed as that seems like something Paypal would accept as proof of the defect. I'm sorry you have to deal with this. Let us know how it comes out.
