It seems that Costa Rica bags with "4" year codes were actually made in 2004, not 1994. They were almost the last of the non-China bags and the creed and serial number stamps were probably leftovers since Coach wouldn't spend money to upgrade an almost-defunct plant's stamping hardware. Most of them were probably made for, or ended up at, the outlets.

None of them can be considered fake unless there's something else seriously wrong with the bag. The plant was making do with what it had and the usual "rules" if there is such a thing don't apply here.
Thank you so much! I couldn't find anything else to doubt it but your eyes have seen a lot more than mine!

Was it the wrong font style the reason it was fake?
Remember that I mentioned that there are only a few authentic N plant codes for the US? All of those occurred in 1994, had the old creed wording and a particular font that is very similar to the B plant of the same era. In fact, it might have been a stamping error of the B plant, rather an actual separate plant. Any other N plant code you see should say made in Mexico or China. There was a discussion of these in the Authenticity Questions thread: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/answers-to-authenticity-questions.94198/page-103#post-30303836 The font also doesn't match any authentic creeds.
Aw, that's a shame. Time to initiate the return process. Thank you for your response.
I'm worried that Poshmark won't be able to tell it is fake. After all, there was an obvious fake they said was authentic. I hope you get your money back.

I saw all that just wanted to see what you'd say. It's actually on a Facebook listing. She actually hasn't posted it yet but I bought one previously that I'm sure is fake and she asked if I wanted this as well.

Tell her to find another buyer for her ILLEGAL counterfeits. She's violating US anti-counterfeiting laws by selling them and it's considered a felony offense..

If you want to post pics of the bag you already bought, we'll take a look at that too.
We often recommend against buying from Facebook because it appears that there are very few groups that actually know the brands and most listings we see are fake.

Some groups have admin with a sense of ethics and morals and will ban members who peddle fakes. If your group has that type of admin, please, please PLEASE refer this seller to her!

It's fake. This the one on Poshmark that I authenticated a few days ago. It starts here: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach.889527/page-1372#post-31106163

I'd like to see how the return process goes with Posh Mark on this bag.

I will update you!
@yescoffee, did you happen to look through the questions and comments posted on that listing? If you check out the listing, you'll see a comment from "beenburned" and a response from the seller, cromwellcy denying what she was advised.

I would certainly refer CROMWELLCY to this post. She's wrong and even if she didn't know it was fake prior to listing (a violation of the law BTW), she was advised prior to selling it.

I'm worried too. (Perhaps @houseof999 will tell you of her experience with a fake she received from Poshmark.)

I will update you!

I am afraid you will have a tougher time than I did. My fake bag's serial number started with the letter P which makes it an obvious fake with an invalid serial number. (IIRC the first letter stands for the month it was made) I had to email them repeatedly with photos of hardware, where it was made in, any logo etc. I had given them links to eBay's guide to fake serial numbers, links to authentication from TPF and had me send the bag to them for them to inspect and decide if it was fake. They still insisted the bag was authentic and decided to refund me as a one time courtesy.

Your bag has what looks like a valid serial number to an inexperienced eye and I highly doubt PM authenticators know all the reasons that @whateve mentioned above that makes it a fake. I hate to be a pessimist but it's not looking good given my experience with them.
