This got skipped somehow, but were burnished leather ever used in Willis bags? The stamped paragraph worried me and the seller also kind of urged me to get it quick because they sell out quick. It backfired me to not even think twice without getting an opinion first. It sold already but I'd still like to know.

The China-made British Tan ones from around 2005 are the only Willises I've ever seen with that particular creed, and I don't think the leather was as highly burnished as some of the tan Legacy bags from around 2003-05 like the one in post 19650.

Thank you! Ah so they ARE burnished leather and they have the correct creed. So are these more coveted than other Willis bags because of this? Is the leather more rugged or more high maintenance than the regular Willis bags?

I've never seen one in that color in person so I can't really answer that. All I have to go by is the seller's photo, and personally I wouldn't even have called it "burnished" but Coach can call it anything they like so I'll have to take them at their word. I do have "burnished" tan leather on a 9570 Legacy Soft Flap Bag from 2003 that's similar to the leather in post 19650 and it has a more polished or shiny look than that seller's Willis photo. The leather on the 2003-05 Soft Legacys is also thinner than the leather on the mid-2000s Willises in other colors that I have (denim blue and aubergine).

So I can't say for sure WHAT the leather on that Willis would be like.

While looking through the Completed Willis listings, I found an interesting fake and wanted to give everyone a heads-up - the seller " WATERCOLORSANDLACEINC " does Private listings so I'm not sure if or when someone paid $198.00 for a Triple-a fake. It even has a very close approximation of the shaved seam areas found in genuine classic and vintage bags.

Serial # E4C-9927, but the font is wrong, the dash and underscore aren't exactly right, and silver hardware was NOT available in 1994. The back if the turnlock has indents (hard to see, but look at the one at the top of the plate) and the inside pocket zipper pull is wrong. The color seems too light for a bag from 1994, it's Camel, not BT, and Camel wasn't available in 1994, (although maybe the pics are just over-lit), especially not with silver-color or nickel hardware. Creeds from the C plant in May 1994 should still have been in the old "scars, scratches" format with the Made In... at the bottom of the creed. The part of the shoulder strap that includes the buckle is also much too long and the buckle is too close to the center point of the strap.

Four pics of the fake, plus one of a slightly later 1994 C plant creed and serial:

Would you please help me authenticate this handbag? It measures 7" x 9 1/2".
I'm leaving this one for WHATEVE. The uneven stitch lengths at the top of the pocket bother me a bit, but I know Coaches weren't perfect. I hope you're good at cleaning verdigris from leather!
I am pretty good at refurbishing, but I only paid $5. If things get too complicated, I will re-donate and leave it to a pro. Thank you Hyacinth!

For the record, this isn't watercolorsandlaceinc's first fake.

In June of 2016, I reported 2 fakes from the seller, one of which had serial number M4N-4154.

Thank you. I thought if it was authentic, does it look burnished as it states? To me it didn't and one more reason I passed on it.

Are there rivets attaching the strap? It looks like it is just sewn. The styling looks like a classic pouch but your measurements make it seem much smaller. Are you sure about those measurements? Which dimension is 7 inches?
It has seen better days, the rivet came out of the bottom strap. The length is 10" and height is 8", if I don't add up to the strap buckle. If I did it would be 10".
