And to add to the fakes that BeenBurned spotted in October, she now has a fake "Court Bag" in her current listings!
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Court...198608?hash=item360e014690:g:b50AAOSw5cNYQwEV
The serial font is completely wrong for the D plant.

And yes, the FAKE Weston at Etsy is exactly the same fake that she had listed on Ebay in October - same exact serial number font, and the same missing leather pieces at the end of the dowel. She's also using the same photos.

PROVINTAGEGEAR at Etsy is the same careless fakes seller as THATWHOLESHEBANG at Ebay. Fake Coaches have been listed and/or sold under both IDs

I contacted the seller at Etsy and he removed the Weston.

Comments: Found this beauty on PM.. I think it's fake.. but then I asked for more pics to see the back of the oval piece and it was fine. I've never seen a bag with this style 9097 before. Please confirm it's fake! LOL!

I've never seen a 9097 before either, but that doesn't mean it's fake. In fact I can't find a single thing wrong with it other than a bit of sloppiness in the padded area above the turnlock. But other than that, it's absolutely right, even the creed is a perfect match for the very few other genuine B plant bags from 1997 that I have on file. Not a Willis, but some kind of mini-brief in the Willis family, like the Colebrook Case or the original Field Bag. I have absolutely NO idea what it was called - are you going to buy it?

Did you ask the seller for measurements? It looks wider.

It is wider than a Willis, one of the photos shows a tape measure. It looks like it's about 13 or 14 inches long, that's why it reminds me of the Colebrook or the 9940 Dowel Field Bag. It's not too big to be a purse, but still can be used like a mini briefcase, and can fit a small laptop or tablet with no problem. My gut tells me that it's the Real Deal, I just can't find ANY information on it. I've never even seen one before or I would have saved a photo, unless there's one buried in all those "unk" pics buried in my files.

It's like a Willis on steroids, but without the top handle. And my biggest complaint about the Willis has always been that it's too darned small. Problem solved. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed, but I'm willing to take the risk. Maybe Jed has some information on it.

Happy Happy Joy Joy... ! :happydance:

No, I had no plan on buying it as I thought it was fake. :)

I wasn't able to find any images for a 9097 bag but I found an old listing from May, 2016 (but images are so longer viewable) and based on the description in the Goodwill listing, the measurements (width) seem to match. Although it doesn't prove anything and although Goodwill seems to have omitted the month code, it appears that there may have been 9097s made in more than one plant.

I'll let you know when I get it, but it looks A-OK to me. I think it was one of those styles that came and went before anyone even noticed them. The Colebrook Case was out at the same time and Coach may have thought that the 2 styles were too similar and were aimed at the same "Ladies' Business Bag" market, so decided to eliminate this one, they've done that kind of thing before. The style number fits perfectly into that time frame too, right between the Barclay Tote and Tribeca Shopper.

I'm cautiously optimistic that it's genuine, and the Hubby is relieved that he now has my Christmas present taken care of. I just hope the darn thing doesn't get lost in the holiday crush. Thanks for giving me the go-ahead!

Yep, I saw that. The 10 in front of the 9097 doesn't make any sense but without actually finding GW's photos there's no way to know what their bag's serial number actually was. I'll just have to spend the next week or so praying to the purse gods that it's ok.

And DAMMIT, it's RED. It had BETTER be OK! :giggle:

God I hope so! Otherwise I can't imagine the nightmare with Posh to get your money back! But.. with all that said.. Red has been my weakness! I've slowly built up quite a collection of red ones. Since this bag is so rare I might have to wait decades till I can find another one like it.
