I can't speak for the listing in question but I did a bit of research that might be useful, if for no other reason, it shows examples that indicate there may have been at least 3 different stamps used in 1997 at the C plant.

This is the creed from the listing in question:

And the following are several comps, including the "donated" stamped creed posted by Hyacinth:

For some reason, i'm not able to upload pictures of comps so they'll have to be save from the following copies.

The following may be fake. (Hyacinth or Whateve can confirm.)

The jury is still out on one of those stamp combos. The 9020 is definitely fake though.

The brown 9806 bothers me not just because of the formatting, but because the Coach logo at the top is different from all the other C plant creeds I've seen. Here's the original listing, the base looks a bit sloppy too, and the pic of the inside doesn't show the bag open wide enough to see the details of the inside base or the male part of the magnetic snap. Some of the letters in the creed are pretty badly made too, the "W" in "was" is completely different from the "W" in "cowhide".

Here's the inside and base compared to a known genuine one:

(not the same month, but the details match other 1997 C plant creeds) - again, there's no solid proof but without pics of the brown one's interior with the bag completely open to show all the details, and a clear photo of the magnetic snap, I wouldn't be comfortable authenticating it.:

Was wondering if someone could authenticate this tote bag. Thank you!

I don't know where the seller found that description that they Copied & Pasted in the "Item Specifics", but it's not for that style. That bag isn't Khaki, suede or canvas. The correct description is farther down the page.

It's genuine, but the long shoulder strap that's supposed to be with it seems to be missing. Finding a replacement to match that color will probably be impossible. The top of the bag is supposed to fold over so it can be carried by the long shoulder strap. I noticed that the seller removed any mention of that longer strap from their description.

Regarding the strap, it's very possible that the seller, flew209 removed the strap and sold it separately as she does with other straps.

Would you kindly authenticate? I'm hoping it's a 90s reissue of the original rambler... Thank you!

Comments: below pics are mine; hang tag is questionable

The hangtag isn't original to the bag, but the bag IS a 1998-99 reissue of the original Rambler. Nice find!

Man, I HATE greedy sellers who do that!

There' was a Persimmon Peyton Tote in their listing that obviously came with a strap that's now MIA, it looks like the strap was listed separately for $34.95, over and above the $69.95 for the bag itself. I'd never buy from a seller who does that. The damn strap is half the price of the bag!

Shoe polish is dampening my excitement...

Don't tell me the previous owner shoe-polished the bag? EEEEE-eewwww.

There's a special place in Handbag Hell for people who do that. I hope it comes off with no problems.
How do you know it's polished?

I went back to look at the listing to see if the seller admitted to polishing it. Although the bag looks coated, the seller didn't admit to "treating" it.

I suspected it based on smell and waxy feel - like it'd been polished but not buffed. Then when I buffed a little with a cloth, I got color transfer. When I cleaned a test spot with vinegar, I got resistance while rubbing and the waxiness kind of smeared around.
I polish lots of boots (but not bags!) and these signs sure seemed familiar. But I am open to other interpretations [emoji846]

I'm playing catch up so I apologize if the question was already answered.

This is a good catch, @Catbird9.

Two Michigan sellers, ebay seller thatwholeshebang and Etsy seller ProVintageGear are selling the same fake bag.
This is a cache of the removed ebay listing from thatwholeshebang:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:9CWbzaCzq1EJ:www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Weston-Brown-LEATHER-Purse-Tote-Shopper-Shoulder-Bag-Handbag-9021-/331993509744?hash=item4d4c5aef70:g:8z8AAOSwLF1X9~sI+&cd=2&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

And this is the listing from Etsy seller ProVintageGear:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/475641140/holiday-sale-coach-brown-leather-weston?ref=hp_rv

And as shown in the side by side comps of the creed pictures from both listings, they are definitely the seller peddling the same bag.

Pardon me for butting in, but as they said in the '90's: "Gag me with a spoon!" You have my sympathy.

I have a coach bag and recently took it out again to look at it. It doesn't appear to have the authenticity number which means its probably not authentic? Anyways I am posting the pics. The bag is :Coach madison diagonal pleated satchel. Thanks for any input

Either sewn into the lining in the main open section or into a seam inside the zipper pocket, there should be a white tag/label with what resembles a serial number. Please post a picture of that tag. (You might have to dig deep into the pocket to find it buried there.)
