Help! This is from a private seller. It's a great deal at $20 but it's a few miles away and I don't want to waste my time. I think it looks ok but I want a second opinion.

Ok after looking at pics and comparing on eBay I think this is a good fake. I can't find any bag with those same handles or front name plate.
Plus when I put the creed number into google (looks like 22044 to me) nothing pops up.

Unfortunately the serial number is hard to read, is it F22044? I can't find any listings at Ebay for comparison so please wait for Whateve to take a look. There don't seem to be any red flags but bags made after the middle of the 2000 decade just aren't my specialty.

Ive searched for this but i cant find any other pics. Any info on this bag?

Sorry, not only is the serial number very hard to read, but nothing can be authenticated with just a creed photo. Unless the creed itself is an obvious fake, we need to see clear photos not only of the creed and serial number but of the entire bag.

I can't find any on eBay either and 22044 is how I read the creed too. The creed # and the front name plate bother me.
Also I haven't seen any in this style with handles that look like they're wrapped on the bottom.

ETA: I found the same bag on eBay. The creed is 23044 and everything is identical so I'm thinking it's ok. I'll still wait for an opinion though.

Both are genuine. Usually I wouldn't be able to be completely sure about the first one without a full serial photo because we actually need to see and compare the fonts and details of the stamping itself, but luckily there's one small detail that helps authenticate it. Most of the time with older bags the inside pocket can be loosened and pulled up and away from the interior to take a clear photo. The second one is also genuine, Coach used that "donated" stamp when they donated bags to things like charity sales, auctions or non-profit organizations.

Thanks a million, Hyacinth! What's the small detail that helped authenticate it? Maybe the back of the turnlock?

Is this Willis bag real? The seller said she purchased it a few years ago. I asked for a picture of the serial number and am waiting for that. I'm more familiar with vintage Coach, so this creed gave me pause. I know that Coach stopped putting the serial number under the creed a couple years ago, but I thought that they stopped making the Willis bag a couple of years before that.

You can't always depend on a number to show up on Ebay or Google, even if it seems like a fairly recent style. But if there's no proven-genuine style of the same number that you can compare it to and no one here can either, it's safest to just pass on it. There will be plenty of other bags that you'll like and that we can actually confirm are genuine. Otherwise it's a big gamble, and you shouldn't gamble unless you can afford to lose.

WAIT FOR MORE OPINIONS, I haven't seen or noticed any Willises new enough to not have a serial number either.

No, it's not so obvious - fake bags can have genuine-looking turnlocks.

Look at the creed photo:

Even without being able to see the serial number, that tiny gap near what would be the upper right corner of the border around the creed is what proves it to me. You'll ONLY find that exact gap in a handful of bags made ONLY in the "C" plant between September (J) and November (L)1994. It's as good as any fingerprint, but unless someone has a large photo library of both real and fake creed stamps, they probably won't know that. The damaged stamp apparently was repaired or replaced some time in November since I have examples of both versions in my files.

BTW, if you don't know about things like month codes and plant codes, you'll find all the answers in the 6 Salearea Coach Guides posted here at Ebay:
