It appears to be a #5190 Envelope Portfolio, and one obtained at a very nice price too. Everyone, correct me if I'm wrong, but the style I believe dates from the mid 1980s. The MADE IN NYC USA below the creed certainly indicates prior to 1988.

I just won an auction(for about the same price) recently for this same bag that RLB identified for me as well. It is a great size and very comfortable. Mine is a light shade. I'm still working on rehabbing before I can wear it. Hope you are pleased as I am.

Your timing is right on the money. It seems to have been introduced in mid to late 1986, it's not in my Summer 1986 catalog but shows up as "NEW" in the Holiday 1986 book, original price $168.

The second one is also genuine. A few other creeds for other styles have mentioned French calfskin so it's not a problem. Again, I don't have any confirmed names for any of the bags from the 1997 Manhattan Collection.

Thanks RL Bernstein, Couturexec and Hyacinth! I finally multi-quoted!

Can you identify these two bags

Name/Year?

Thank you!
If you're impatient, here's a quick attempt at the identification question:

Based on what you've shown, the first one is a #9017 Abbie Demi from 1998. (You just have to love that the Turkish facility broke the "rule" and used the letter I). Please allow for an authenticator to confirm.

The second one appears to be a #9865 Plaza Court Bag from between 1991 and 1993. Please allow someone with access to early 1990s catalogs to confirm the "official" name.

Can you identify these two bags

Name/Year?

Thank you!

The first one is an Abbie Zip, the year as indicated in the serial number code is 1998.

The second one is one of the Plaza Bags. On older styles that don't have any letters of the alphabet in the serial number, it helps if you post measurements. Judging from the proportion of the turnlock to the flap it's probably the Plaza Bag Large as RL Bernstein said, the Large measures roughly 11x8 inches and the Small would have been about an inch plus a smidge smaller. AFAIK Coach never used the name "Court Bag" for either of these styles. It's a close cousin but their catalogs always just call them Plaza Bags. It was made some time between 1989 and 1992.

Got this email from Poshmark regarding getting refunded so here it is:

"Thank you for your email. After further review, we have no reason to believe the Vintage Coach Trail Bag is not authentic. Please note that variations in hardware and construction may vary based on season.

Thank you for understanding.

Best,
Marium"

So they are not going to refund me anything. Lovely. So much for being protected under "Posh Protect" policy.

Wow, that really sucks - Ridiculous they aren't refunding you! This makes me realllly hesitant purchasing anymore bags on Posh. Thanks for sharing their response, sorry they blew you off like that :(

I don't know who their authenticators are but I'm really doubting their credibility. They just decided on their own and didn't even request I get the bag formally authenticated by any reputable company or anyone. It's fine that they don't believe me but to completely disregard authentication from this forum is just unbelievable and unacceptable.

Hyacinth, quick related question. Wasn't there a Plaza version (can't recall the style number) of the #9927 Willis bag that was released later in the 1990s? I recall there being a rounded bottom bag with the dowel-mounted handle and strap that may have been the inspiration for the 70th Anniv #19036 Willis, but could be mistaken. (That's why I added the "Court" to the name of this Plaza bag, since it has the Court bag style handle.)

Comment: this looks good but there's that extra dash. Authentic?

The serial number prefix of the first one is actually K0D- so it was made in 2000 (or maybe K9D- which would still be genuine and make it a 1999 bag). The J8P- is from 1998, so the first one is newer. They're both genuine, that extra dash was sometimes seen in serial numbers from the D plant during that time period. Think of it as a Millennial Dash.

IIf anyone else wants to point out anything, they're welcome to do it.
*Hand raised and waving wildly!*
I have a couple of comments to add. Sadly, I don't think my comments are what Hyacinth had in mind when she made them.

1. @houseof999 - Please be sure to include seller IDs in your requests
2. I have an issue with Diva55555, the seller of the US-made bag and can't recommend her for several reasons.

To refresh, this is the Mercari listing from Diva55555 :

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! DIVA55555

There's one of those "mystery styles" that sounds like what you're describing. It's not in any of my catalogs and the only name that seems connected with it is "Sherbourne Flap", and that's only from one source so there's no way to know if it's right. The style number was 9987 and it could be the Mystery Willis that the newer version was based on. Here are a few pics - measurements from the listings are about 10x9 with a 24" strap drop and it seems to be a 1996 style. If anyone has any solid details or has a few 1996 catalogs at home that they can check, we'd love to hear from you.

It's really ironic that a style that barely made a blip on Coach's radar in 1996 and was apparently only available for a very short time would turn out to be so popular barely 15 years later and with just a few styling tweaks. But apparently with the fashion market, timing is everything.

Can you refer those fools here?

Did you use a credit card for the payment? ANy chance of a c.c. dispute?

That's the one. I remember the style as being #9987. Who knows why that tidbit of information stuck, whereas the name, though familiar, I cannot place a mental picture to. Thanks.

I used pay pal. I opened a case there too but it is in open case status. In the meantime I am dealing with Marium from Poshmark support and asked her again why they found "no reason to believe" the bag I received is not authentic. I just sent this in email:

"Marium,

Please explain why the invalid serial code doesn't make the Trail case counterfeit bag. You seem to keep denying refund without any reasons. Hardware does change from season to season but valid serial codes never began with the the letter P. I have been very patient and explained Vintage serial code to you in every email which is the most important part in identifying and authenticating a Coach bag. Valid vintage Coach serial codes did not and do not start with any letter past the letter M. You are repeatedly ignoring this fact and ignoring the most important proof of evidence. But only that, you are also completely not acknowledging the authentication done by experienced authenticators from The Purse Forum. I had given you the link to that authentication in my last email. I had given you links to eBay guides to fake creed codes also. I am terribly disappointed that even after coming you all possible pictures, proofs, and explanations you are still choosing to not protect me under the Posh Protect Policy. Why?"

Did you do what BeenBurned suggested and post your experiences in the Poshmark forum here at tPF? If you haven't, it might be a good idea. Then I'd send that mental midget at Poshmark another email (only AFTER you get a refund from Paypal) with a link to your post, a mention of how many members this forum has who will be able to read it (516,485 registered members as of today, September 14, according to the stats on the main forum.purseblog.com page), and a formal request to close your PM account permanently and a statement that any time, any place, and anywhere you ever see or hear or read about someone who mentions Poshmark, you'll give them a full history of your experience and a warning to avoid dealing with them.

I had a problem with Overstock.com a long time ago, they tried to delay refunding me for a damaged item that I returned and dragged it out until the return window was almost over. So I posted my experience in 2 or 3 shopping forums including FatWallet and sent the links to my posts to Overstock's so-called Customer Service. I had my refund within about 3 days. When fighting fair doesn't work, it's time to fight dirty.

Could someone please authenticate this Coach bag?
From GW...
Approx. 7.5"w x 7.5"h x 1.5"d. Strap 24" to rings.
Found one on ebay called a Campbell Swingpack #F49170. Does this sound right?
And does the little dot after the country or origin denote MFF?
Thanks in advance!DSCF3286.JPGDSCF3287.JPGDSCF3288.JPG
