one more.. looking at something different.
The way I understood it, you had clicked on the buy it now button. When you do that, you enter into a contract that you will agree to pay for the item. You shouldn't hit "buy it now" or bid until you are sure you will purchase. The seller has lost exposure of her item to other potential buyers and has to use another of her listings to relist it. If she has already used up all her free listings, she'll have to pay. In my opinion, the only valid reason to back out is that you learned the bag was fake.
Oh I used Make Offer button. She was nice and said she thought it was vintage and cancelled the order.

So is it over priced considering it's NOT vintage? What did it retail for?

Just because a bag is technically "vintage" doesn't automatically mean it's always worth more than one that isn't. I think you're putting too much weight on that designation. And if a bag isn't vintage this year, it will be eventually. I've never let a bit of terminology get in the way of something I liked and wanted.

And Whateve is right about the Buy It Now button. If you clicked on it, you committed to buy the item. Backing out of what's essentially a contract isn't fair to the seller. The Make Offer button is the same thing. Neither should be clicked unless you're ready to commit.

Second one...

Item: Scribble wallet
Seller: Savers (in my possession)
Dimensions: about 7 ¾ x 4 x 1
Comment: Is this just a different colorway than the hobo?

It looks fine. It was made for factory, while the hobo was made for full price. The wallet was probably made several years later.

Whateve is right, the Scribble Hobo is almost 2 years earlier than the wallet, and they're from 2 different Scribble lines. At that time Coach was bringing out a new Scribble design every year, the Hobo was known as the Hamptons Weekend (Pastel) Scribble and I think the wallet may have been the Pastel Outline Scribble, at least unofficially although in the catalogs it's just called a Hamptons Scribble. The Outline version is from 2007. Coach probably did at least 8 different Scribble designs. You have my permission to mix and match them, I do too.

BTW, the wallet is style 40420.

Cool! I had no idea this line spanned multiple years with that many designs. Thank you!
Out of curiosity, are the watercolor stripe hobos considered a Scribble line? The colorways and style shapes used look so similar to the Scribbles.

Eeek, I felt really bad after reading your reply and bought it from the new listing. Though I never backed out from the initial contract... She offered to cancel because it wasn't "vintage" and my initial reaction was to say yes... as you mentioned above.. I was putting too much weight on that designation. Thank you so much for educating me on this matter. Now I am an educated idiot! :p:smartass:

Do you mean like the one in this listing?

No, the Watercolor Stripes weren't considered part of the Scribble family AFAIK. Neither are the Poppy Dream Cs, although I consider them first cousins since some of the Cs in the pattern have that scribbled crayon effect. You can see it in this style:

(I like Scribbles - can you tell? Especially the Scribble Stitch bags. The Cs are actually embroidered on with a thick shiny silk-look thread.)

You're right! Report it. The prefix D6J on a bag is always fake.
I want to add the seller ID so it'll come up in a search of sellers who have had fakes. (Please refer to the first post of the thread for the posting format and information we need.)
seller of the fake Willis: missprissysfinery.

I thought I was done treasure hunting for now, but I found a dirty one of these!!!! This worried me because when the straps are leather, doesn't the creed say "made from the finest materials and leather" ? I appreciate the help so much.
It's authentic.

There's no "rule" about how the creed should be worded.
