Eeek, I felt really bad after reading your reply and bought it from the new listing. Though I never backed out from the initial contract... She offered to cancel because it wasn't "vintage" and my initial reaction was to say yes... as you mentioned above.. I was putting too much weight on that designation. Thank you so much for educating me on this matter. Now I am an educated idiot! :p:smartass:
I'm glad. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how nice the leather is. I love bags made in Costa Rica.

I want to add the seller ID so it'll come up in a search of sellers who have had fakes. (Please refer to the first post of the thread for the posting format and information we need.)
seller of the fake Willis: missprissysfinery.

Do you have this seller on your list? I caught it right before it ended but unfortunately someone ended up paying more than $40 for it.

If " hd91711 " isn't on someone's list, he or she should be. That Patchwork was reported more than once and Ebay still hasn't removed it. At least half those patch patterns were ONLY found on fakes. $43 is $42 too much for anyone to pay for that POS. There's NOTHING right about it.

Do not buy from hd91711

Here are pics, for anyone who missed it:

The listing made me laugh out loud, and also angry with all the "real, authentic" touting. I can't believe those bidders didn't catch all of the things wrong with it! You can definitely find authentic Coach totes for $40 and under, yet they had a bidding war over that piece of junk.

Another interesting thing to note about the seller HD91711 is that in addition to selling that horrific fake, her favorite customer got caught shilling and is now NARU -

Why do you say that Whateve?
Because people seem to have a bias towards US made bags, as if they are magically better. If the quality of the leather is top-notch, then it doesn't matter to me where it was made. I've seen Coach bags from all eras made in many different countries, and being made in the US or being made in the 70s or 80s doesn't necessarily mean a bag is going to be better quality. One of the nicest bags I've ever felt was a Legacy drawstring made in 2001. I think they may have improved their tanning process since many of the late 90s and early 2000s bags have leather that is much supple and luxurious feeling than bags made earlier. I don't think it is just a result of aging that makes the earlier bags stiffer. I've never been unhappy with the quality of any bag that was made in Costa Rica. Several of my favorite bags were even made in China.

Keep in mind that the Willis is a relatively new style. Since it was introduced in 1993, most Willises you find will not be technically vintage.

The seller states "see picture with serial number" even though there is no number!

Thanks for taking the time to share your insight. It is much appreciated.
I'm not interested in the Willis, Court or Station. First, they seem a little too structured for my style. Secondly, most importantly IMO, they are too small for my needs most days.

Good morning! Would you please authenticate this City Bag – clearly I’ve fallen off the Ban wagon. Thank you!

Item: City Bag
Seller: Salvation Army (in my possession)
Comments: tried for a better creed shot but think it's worn in the center

I agree. In fact when it came time to decide which of my Tafts to give up, the Tan USA-made one from 1995 or the red Costa Rica bag from 2002, I kept the red one partly because the leather just felt nicer. (And of course, because it was RED. )
