  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock

1- genuine Penelope Bucket
2- genuine Twill Basic Bag probably from around 1986, style 8455
3- both genuine, the black one is a Station Bag 5130, and the blue one is a Retro Dinky Shopping Bag from the 1991 50th Anniversary Retro Collection, style 9001
4- genuine, maybe a City Bag?
5- genuine Basic Bag 9455

Comments: Messaged seller to request a copy of creed as listing states style no is 11786. However 11786 is the Bleecker Bucket Floral. She is not at home, but stated the bag number was 11786 (she also bought it on ebay). I asked if she could send pics and her sister did, but still hard to tell. The creed is printed crooked in the pics, but other than that, I really cannot read anything. I told her that maybe the "6" was an "8" and maybe didn't print well. So I decided to post here to you all and see what you know about this bag and if it is authentic. I am trying to attach pic of creed sent to me. Thank you!

I am seriously blown away by how knowledgable the authenticators are here, especially about the vintage... Those are so far over my head, that I stay away lol. I've had fun rehabbing so far though.

I found this one. I won't pay more than $15 for it, but i should have a chance of the auction not exceeding that. Can you guys tell if it's authentic? The seller sent me extra photos, and I played with the creed photo to try and make it easier to read.

It's probably style #17048. I can't read the creed either. It looks authentic. It's a Poppy hippie from 2010 (I think that is what the creed says.) I rehabbed a bag from this collection that almost looked that bad. It came out surprisingly well. I painted it with a light coat of Wood 'n' Stuff Leather Refinisher. When I see a bag in this kind of condition, I wonder why they continued carrying it when it looked like that!

AWESOME! I'm really excited! I just ordered some samples from wood n stuff for the other cream bag I'm working on. If I win this I'll head back and order some blue shades :biggrin:

A slightly crooked creed stamp isn't a problem, but this one is excessive. There are other red flags in that photo too. The listing was removed by Ebay, not the seller, so someone apparently reported it as fake. Even if it's re-listed I would STRONGLY caution you against buying it.

We've seen that bag before, discussed it thoroughly, and concluded it was fake.

The one in the listing you luckily DIDN'T buy is the same fake style but a different bag, the creed stamp and stitching are much sloppier than the one we discussed at the Authenticity Questions thread last year. The difference just in the creed details make it even more likely that they're both fake.

Another red flag is your seller's description - "It looks like black dye got on the handles and other places on this bag because its a faint black color. Has some fading on exterior leather. Broken zipper inside bag which coach will fix for free and not noticeable." Edgepaint all over handles? And a broken zipper?

amanda051987 and legendarymint are indeed the same person. I didn't see the listing you posted above (item 252498089666) from legendarymint as it's already been removed, but both sellers list their locations as Virginia (though they use different cities) and both sellers use the same backgrounds.

Do not buy from amanda051987 and legendarymint !

And as further proof (as though it's needed) to show they're the same fake-selling-seller, these are each of their listings. (This bag is authentic -- just proving they're the same person using different IDs.)
