Thanks Hyacinth! I don't see anything suspicious, I think I'm just freaking myself out. It's a really nice bag so it seems too good to be true, I'm new to the business of owning nice bags! :smile1:

Then use it and enjoy it, I have the same style in suede and it's a very easy-to-live-with bag. Great size and a nice big outside pocket. :smile1:

I bought this bag off eBay without getting it authenticated first. Seemed like it looked reasonable but now that I've received it, I'm thinking it was too good to be true. It's one of the 1417 styles. The one I had asked about was bid out from under me so I ended up buying this one.

Thoughts? The seller has a money back guarantee. Thanks!!
That's an authentic one.

Thank you once again Whateve, so my guess was right? Am I finally learning a bit? ;)
You're welcome! Yes, it looks like a Chester.
thanks very much!
You're welcome!
The one in my lnk was listed before with a starting price of $175 and no one bid, so she relisted starting at $150. Now she's got 2 bids.
I think I was watching it before. I'm surprised it didn't sell at $175, probably only because the seller doesn't have much of a track record.

Hmm. So I should have jumped on it? I hadn't been looking enough to know what price would be a deal.

Bought this on ebay and never thought to authenticate before bidding. I don't know if it depends on the style but I noticed that the last few words on creed are not centered as my other Coach bags. Also curious…aren't Coach dust bags supposed to have red drawstrings? This one came with one that is made of a satiny material, shiny side is on the inside with taupe drawstrings.

I think $175 is a fair price. Occasionally you can find them around $150 but most of the time they are around $200. I got my rust for $160 on a buy it now. If you wait, you might find a deal eventually. I had been looking for a long time. I bought the ink (navy) first because I didn't want to risk too much money before I had tried out the style. When I bought my burgundy, I was just about to bid on an auction for $175. There were literally 2 minutes left in the auction when I decided to look at new listings and found it listed for less than 1/2 the price, but not in perfect condition.

The seller of that burgundy for $175 never sold it, even when she lowered the price to $150. It isn't listed now. If you want the seller's name and link to the ended listing, I can give it to you in a PM and you could ask the seller if she still wants to sell it.

ETA: This one (British tan?) just ended at $167.50: http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-Purse...1tXxuUNo9Y1d8TWXOaOUk%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc

The spacing and centering of the words on creeds has changed and continues to change. The bag looks authentic. Dustbags have also changed throughout the years. I think the bag that originally came with this style would have been the brown flannel with a red drawstring. This looks like a later dustbag from a few years ago. If the seller is like me, bags are put into whatever dustbag is available. I can't keep track of what dustbag came with each bag.

That is the color I prefer. I wonder how many bid on it. The other one ends at 8 and is at $151.50 with 2 bids right now.[/QUOTE]
There are three very similar brownish colors and most sellers call them all whiskey. I think the one that ends at 8 is rust, which is the color I have. I think it is a little redder than the British tan. Wine (burgundy) is much darker and looks like a reddish mahogany.

Hmm. She calls it burnished brown and now there's 4 bids, to $157.50. Might not be meant to be this time but I'll keep my eye on it.
