I requested an additional pic on that bag but so far nothing,( seller promised send extra pic today after 12am, assuming that she/he is in Illinois they should be on the west cost 10am ), maybe somebody else had more luck, but what I think that bag is fake. I never sow such a bad work on the wovening (especially on the bottom) it looks messy (not tight enough).
What you girls think:confused1:

I'm not an expert on Cabats, but the weave does look different for some reason. I don't understand a seller with such a high end bag not providing clear pics of both the metal name plate (or heat stamp in other styles) and the authenticity tag. She probably didn't bother responding to you because the bidding is fairly high even without those pics. I think it's disrespectful to potential buyers to not include the essential photos or supply them when requested.:tdown:

The seller has quite a lot of detailed info on when this bag was bought--the brief period when the font was very plain. she's selling another older vintage bag that is authentic. I'm guessing this is not all that old--maybe 8-9 yrs. I think it's authentic--the leather/weave/seams just look good and correct. The dustbag is correct for that time.

It is definitely authentic, and I would say from around 2000 for 2 reasons. The second pocket for cell phones is something not seen in earlier (pre-mid 90's) production, but more important the small, subtle branding on the exterior metalwork, which was typical of Giles Deacon designs. He was only there from 2000 until June of 2001 when Tomas Maier took over. IMO, a nice, recent vintage piece!

I have several vintage BV's, and at least one could use some minor reconditioning and cleaning. I could take it to my local leather man, but I am concerned that the softness, and tactile quality that is so BV would be lost. Does anyone know if you can send a vintage bag to BV and have it repaired/reconditioned? Whom or what store would I contact?

Thanks for your help!!!
