please check the pic above."O" and "E" seem so weird. They are not even the same size as other letters.
Does that mean it is a fake one.Totally no clue. Please advise

Okay, that is weird. Also, is it normal for the weave not to go right to the edge?

Is there an authenticity tag inside somewhere (in one of the larger pockets/slots)? A picture of that would be useful.

This certainly doesn't look right. I don't think BV will ever stamp it so badly. The E also look very very poorly stamped. In addition, the weave should go right to the edge of the wallet.

My conclusion - FAKE.

Hi Ladies, I am brand new to the forum as a member, I have viewed it before when I have seen it mentioned in ebay descriptions. I have bought tons of stuff on ebay over the last few years and until recently had no idea where to go for answers when I thought I got stuck with fakes. I would like your all's opinion on this wallet, I bought it last year on ebay from a seller with 100% feedback and previous BV sells so I have not really had any doubts about it but I only own 2 BV items both bought on ebay so I am no expert by any means. I finally got my own ebay acct (separate from the hubby's:graucho:) and am considering selling some of my items but I don't want to until I make certain that they are authentic. If possible can you ladies give me an opinion on my wallet.

True, the oldest vintage bags have no authenticity tag with numbers, etc. I believe this is authentic--I have some vintage bags with a font like this. There were bags of more recent vintage with no serifs on the letters, but the oldest ones have metal nameplates that look like this. The zipper pull looks good and they often had the very thin leather strap. Seller states that there is a fair amount of wear on the bag, which sort of is opposite of "gently used"! Not sure what to make of that!

Thanks Boxermom - good sleuthing btw!:supacool::heart:

kellyguo, the font looks off indeed. There are certain types of wallets, where the weave doesn`t reach the egde, but a close-up shot of a tag would be helpful.

mikscloset, sorry, but the wallet seems like a fake to me. The tag should have a slightly jagged edge, shouldn`t be see-through and should have another font for the code.

How does the leather feel and smell (sometimes that`s a giveaway)?
