Hi.
This is my very first post on this forum.

I just purchased a Veneta thru eBay and took 2 weeks to received it.
But...it was a totally different item from the item description.

The bag was not a brand new, was used many times from the lining condition.
And it was not an authentic.
I do not really know about Bottega Veneta's but the bag does not have an label inside and does not have suede lining, has cotton lining.

I sent a message to the seller but she still insisted that the bag is a brand new and an authentic.
So I filed a claim to Paypal right away but I think the insurance will not cover even the half price of what I paid.
It has been 5 days since I filed a claim, but the seller has never respond to it yet.

Then I found this forum and I just contacted to my CC company for chargeback.
Now, I am waiting to hear the outcome from my CC investigation.

Cause of this thread, I could found what to do in this situation.
My case is just started....but thank you so much!!

^^Baggiana, the leather looks as if of poor quality (or being plastic, for that matter). I would ask for tags though, to make sure.

Oh, no! Someone has put 2 bids of this - and it is listed as a private identity auction. I believe that it is fake, and if so, wanted to report this in the hopes of saving someone else the pain (and lost $$$) of buying a fake. I agree that the pictures give too little information, but since I am not in the market for this bag - or any fake, I don't want to spend a lot of time with the seller. Don't know whether to file a report... Any advise?

pinez0, You have done the right thing by filing with your cc card company. While you are waiting on Paypal (and they can take a long time - up to 30 days allowed for the seller to respond) - and your cc company, take pictures of the bag all that show the condition, etc. Also print the auction page with all the pictures (enlarged, if possible) before the seller removes this. This will be documentation for your case. Also, keep copies of all correspondence with the seller and with Paypal, because the charge will be going against Paypal. Follow the instructions of your cc company. They are handling this now. Paypal may weigh in, but my experience is that everything moved faster with the involvement of my cc company.

By the way, I was told the other day on this forum by a knowledgeable member, prestwick, that BV bags could be lined in a canvas-like fabric, and she had seen authentic bags with this type of lining in an outlet venue in Italy. That does not mean that your bag is authentic. There are several parameters that establish authenticity, and others here may be able to help you with that.

It may take awhile, but your cc company is your best bet! Good luck!!!

Hi,

The seller gave me a serial number, too:
"BOTTEGA VENETA"
MADE IN ITALY
LIMITED EDITION
"LAVARAZIONE FATTA A MANO 115674 II 055/150"

But the bag's authenticity still does seem fishy.
Thanks for your help, though.

You can report the auction to Ebay, if it's still running. At the bottom of every auction page is a link to report, "report this item". Click on that and follow the prompts.

Morning Everyone! Could someone weigh in on this bag. It's listed as lilac, but isn't it Old Petra? Will ask for tag pix. Thanks!

Hey Brennamom,

I`m a little clueless. It`s definitely not the OP colour from SS 07, because it`s a vintage piece, but the tag has such a "blurred" font, KWIM? The older font was totally clear without any serifs at all, but this seems so weird.

Any other opinions?

Baggiana, thank you for your advise. I will take some pics!
Actually, the bag smells!! and human and cat hair inside.
I do not even want to touch it but it can't be helped...

Thank for the information on the lining. The bag I received has cotton lining, but the seller described that the bag has sueded lining.
I sent some messages to the seller prior to bidding to make sure the authenticity, but I should asked her more details. I really regret it...
