Let us know how it goes, Baggiana. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it all works out for you.

the pay pal resolution rules are behind a link somewhere -- they don't post them in an obvious place when you make a dispute. I once paid $365 for an Hermes scarf from a French seller - paid for Express Mail shipping with tracking, and she claimed she sent it regular surface mail. She canceled her eBay account after i filed a complaint. By the time the dust had all settled, I got $175 back (the $200 PayPal max, minus the $25 they charged). From then on, I only paid with a credit card and went to my card company for a chargeback when there was a problem.

spendalot, I have bought Balenciaga (which she's mostly known for) from ******, and her items are authentic. I too would love to know her source for Bbags, BV, Miu Miu, etc. She had a couple bags recently that I would've bought if they'd been in the large rather than medium.

My firrst time to BV. I have always coveted because of their timeless quality. Any opinions on this one and other this seller has...Thanks

This one looks good to me but we'll let the vintage experts chime in.

I noticed this auction and though several things about it looked good to me, I don't own a cabat against which to compare it..... but several other people on the BV forum do. Perhaps they can offer their opinion?

Wonderful BV authenticators.............
I have found another bag that has caught my interest. I have been looking and learning, and I think this one may be good, but would appreciate your input!

Thanks so much!

This is a tough one. I think it may be the vintage when the font was different than the current one. I'm unaware of which, if any, styles BV stamped it on the exterior. But we've debated whether BV's were faked several years ago. I'm on the fence. I will say that seller has an authentic BV in her listings and she seems to deal with designer name merchandise. I lean towards real.

I wish I could say for certain--maybe someone will have more knowledge. It's a nice-looking bag.

Good morning all! What do the experts think of this bag?

Thanks for the help!

At the risk of being contrary to expert opinion, I have to say I think this one is a fake.

1. The edges on the metal plaque on the interior pochette are too square, should be a bit more rounded, and the font etched is a bit off
2. Stitching on the handles is a bit off, and the way the leather puffs out is a bit off as well
3. The leather looks too similar to regular nappa; even though the nero and ebano cabats are not in umbria, the type of leather used is much thicker and does not wrinkle like that displayed, because they have to use double-sided long strands instead of a flat sheet to support the surface and the interior (as you know, the regular bags use a flat sheet of nappa and then threads of nappa weaved in and out of the sheet, versus this type of basketweave, which requires thicker and doubled up strips. They should not look/feel the same as what you would see on a Veneta)

^I have a bad feeling about the Cabat as well, mostly because of what is written on the metal plaque. There is no sign whatsoever which number in line of all the Cabats produced from this particular season it is, and usually it can be determined from the plaque in any LE piece.

This is why it's good for lots of BV owners to look at these auctions. I obviously don't know enough about them and have never owned one. The Cabat is often faked, undoubtedly because of the high price.
